Rob spent the last week at the Christian Booksellers show, and just returned a day ago.  I'm sure he returned to piles of orders (I know I left him one while he was gone) and e-mails and tournament results and tournament registrations, and bills to pay and questions to answer and etc.  It may take him a few days to catch up to the point he can post the article.  He has to take care of his customers who placed orders before he posts previews for excited fans.  :)

Hopefully the article will be worth the wait.  It's spoileriscious.

Yeah, well, maybe he shouldn't have been going on vacation and being lazy while he ignored his responsibilities. ::)

You mean this link (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/red_game_articles_disciples-2.php) isn't the article?  Here I thought Cactus was reprinting the blank white card in Disciples... ::)

I probably would have split it horizontally, but in the end, I just love the card's ability. ;D TGT is getting slammed, finally. AND, dominants are getting a bit of a slap in the face as well. Happiness!

well, not your opponents dominants.

I assume once its out of my artifact pile I can then activate another artifact on my next turn?

Okay, I'm almost certain this was an idea by someone on these boards...

EDIT: Also, one question: Can you DoN a placed curse if it had been used as an artifact when placed?

If a covenant or curse is used as an artifact then it can be targeted as a covenant/curse OR as an artifact.  So yes.

is it an artifact if its no longer in the artifact pile? I know Simon can hold Crossbeams, a Priest can hold breastplate, and fortresses can hold one as well...but something doesn't seem right about a curse being able to be placed on a character or fortress with the ability to be discarded as an artifact rather than an evil card...I can't quite put my finger on it though...

I guess the question is what is it considered when placed?

Is it whatever it was before it got placed (either a curse/enhancements or a curse/artifact)
Or is it just a placed curse?

I vote for just being a Placed Curse.  (It will be much harder for my opponent to get rid of it that way)

Not that "voting" makes a difference for the argument, but I agree that at least in the phase after the curse is placed, it should no longer be considered either an enhancement or an artifact.

I agree with prof, FWIW.

I actually asked that same question during playtesting, this was Bryon's response:

Quote from:  Bryon Hake; Disciples Playtest List V3.0
If it is activated as a curse/artifact, then it is treated as one for the rest of the time it is in play.  It can't be targeted as an evil enhancement, so it is difficult to remove.  (It takes an artifact discarder or a curse discarder).
If it is used in battle as an enhancement, then while it is placed it can't be targeted as an artifact - only as a curse or evil enhancement.

I suppose its fair that it can be targeted as whatever it was activated as, unfortunately it will make Captured Ark less useful because my opponent could just reshuffle that card and get rid of it for a while

Actually, I don't think that they can shuffle it, since you retain control.

Captured Ark says in opponents territory
Title: Re: Ahem...

it also says to shuffle it into their deck. im split on this one.

Ah, that is unfortunate.... I thought it said each opponent had to shuffle one of his own artifacts... Carry on.

It'd be worth finding, because the PTB said that one of the cards made by the most prolific cardmaker (me) is being made into a card (almost?) verbatim, and my Scribes was able to band to a Pharisee or Sadducee (I remember that much).
