For probably the first time ever in Redemption, the first turn of a game was opened up not with a rescue attempt, or with a battle challenge, but with a taunt! (Hint: it wasn't Goliath ;))

Is this in reference to the player created cards from nats? I'm excited either way :)

How about extremely obvious hints? ;)
I think I read somewhere that you were playtesting a new set (may be mistaken) so it could be from that. I'm already trying to speculate on who or what it could be. I'm really excited to find out. Guess I'll just have to get out a certain fruit of the spirit card in the meantime.

It's true. We're in full on testing mode for next years release. It's early, so it's hard to say what might change and what might not even make the cut, but it's highly likely that we will see some more taunt.  8)

Please tell me it is a Shimei reprint that has the taunt ability "when taunting you may throw your counters (like rocks) at you opponents!"

That was pretty spot on. I had another first recently. I had a Hero in the game who wasn't represented by a real card.
