Title: 30 Pieces of Silver question
Post by: Tyreese on July 18, 2010, 04:31:56 PM
30 Pieces  - Regardless of battle outcome Hero is discarded.  "David's Harp" has no effect.  May be used twice.

My question is if a hero is about to win the battle and their opponent uses 30 pieces to discard the hero, is a lost soul still rescued?

Thirty pieces doesn't activate until the soul is rescued

Correction:

Thirty Pieces does not activate until the battle is over, win or lose for the hero.  I can have a battle end in stalemate and Thirty Pieces will still take out the hero.

The point is that you can get rid of two pesky heroes that are annoying you.

Even if they win, they die.  Great way to deal with an annoying hero who is difficult to kill.  "Oh you won the battle, but you know what you won't rescue again you are dead."  I like using it against ignore decks :)

i guess i see how it would be helpful it just seems like there are better things to use where the oppenent doesn't get a lost soul

I'm not saying it is over powered, just that it has uses, it can be a lot of fun with cards like Philistine Priests, who can negate and deactivate Chariots, then blam toast.  It's just another semi useful tools in redemptions arsenal.

Also, use this with death of unrightous and then they will not get any souls and still die (it can also be held by HPP so you could keep it active)

30 Pieces + Uzzah (discard any art) + Torment
then Uzzah (discard 30 pieces)

But I wouldn't put it in a deck tbh. There are better options.

Also, it's great with sadds and phar defense since it can be activated in HPP
