When making new cards, by nature, we're going to make some old cards obsolete. So we make a concentrate effort to breathe new life into old cards as well. There were discussions about reprinting David's Harp. It certainly would be appropriate in the context of the set. Instead, we've essentially added the following ability to the text of both versions of David's Harp:
"If David, the Psalmist enters battle, you may play an Involving Music."
You'll also find at least a dozen other old cards that suddenly have more playability because new cards give them a boost. Thanks for helping me decide what to spoil on LoR tomorrow! 8)
also, with the new Jephthah, does Ibzan have to be in your deck to be added to battle, or can you add him from territory or hand. I think it is the later, as the wording is similar to AUTO's draw and play ability where you can choose to do one or both of them.
Moses is a beast, and I am going to accept it as a much needed Redemption-esque apology for territory class ;)

Shocked and disappointed that this artwork wasn't used for Moses.Rob stopped using Goodsalt art a few year ago, around the same time the card layout changed. So no real surprise that we didn't choose that piece. If we did still use Goodsalt, I find that piece less desirable than the one we chose.

Question about broken covenant. How does one go about discarding a 'random' card from deck anyhow? If no deck manipulation has taken place it is easy, but if some has is there an implied shuffle in the ability?

Yes, I think you are missing something. ;)
Now I'm not going to claim that the new one is better than the old version, but I do believe they are comparable. If used correctly, it will still result in your opponent having one less rescued soul, right?. Will it always work to stop a rescue? No, but then again sometimes the old Falling Away doesn't work either if your opponent is using GoyS or Lampstand.
Not to mention it's versatility...often times the best play will be to target your opponent's attacker, but what if they attack with a band and you have no ECs? Simply convert one of your own Heroes to an EC in whatever brigade you need and you can potentially do more damage than simply taking back the free Lost Soul you had to give up for lack of an EC.
All this and more will be explained in a future LoR article, but don't be so quick to dismiss 8)

so question for all the play testers......I was looking on ebay yesterday just to see what cards were being sold...and I stumbled onto the new Eli the Priest and the new UR Lost Soul....both together were 20 bucks. How are these being sold already if they haven't been released??????I already have the new lost soul, i got it at a local, but i haven't seen any others in print yet.

I'm guessing that if they didn't get a little boost now, they might get a huge boost later since we are only a few books away from Revelation at this point.Would love to to see new versions of abadon the destroyer, beast from sea/earth, and red dragon. Isn't this generally true in life? People with money get things that the rest of us don't? Don't get me wrong, I really want Second Coming, too, but I would also like a Porsche, a bigger house, a cruise vacation, and a maid/butler. ;)

I'm just worried that like shipwrecked this card will be close to unattainable for younger players with little to no budget. The only people that will have this will be the play testers and other redemption players with a lot of time and money for the game.
I don't know what everyone else thinks, this card is just sweet though.

Just wanted to say that from a visual/art perspective this is probably the best set I've seen yet. Love the blended borders and selected artwork, I can really tell that was a priority this go around. Well done!!!

Even before that happened, the dom cap caused a drop in GoyS being used and Destructions were fairly easy to acquire for around $10, which is fairly reasonable for a card that strong that was an UR. The repacking dropped it even further obviously but there was a good supply of them after a couple years.
Now that all of the CoW cards are spoiled, if its not too late, I would like to submit my profile picture as the art for Noah's Ark. ;)
