1. In 2 player which is better?
2. In multi which is better?

2-liner is Way better in Multi.
I don't think it maters that much in 2-player.

In 2-player, 2-liner is generally better as that means you can rescue the other* half if you need to block your opponent from it.
In multiplayer I'm going to disagree with Neil and say that 3-liner is the better choice. Once one opponent rescues half, it's effectively auto-blocks against both other opponents.

I agree with browarod, Three-liner is better in multi for its ability to auto-block.

So people will make rescue attempts against you, and you'll be able to draw with your defense. (Not block, who does that?)
