Announcing THE DECK DATABASE:

A while back I mentioned on a Threshing Floor Podcast episode how I would be starting a Deck Database on Land of Redemption. What I meant by this is when I publish a deck build that article will periodically be updated as I update the deck build for as long as the deck remains relevant in the meta. Once a deck is no longer relevant in the meta I will "retire" it to "The Deck Archive" category on LoR. I recently have gone through and updated all but one of my main deck builds I published in the past year that are still relevant in this meta. The one article I did not update this month (Soul Surfer) was just updated in December. At the bottom of each article is now a change log reflecting what has changed  with each update as well as an explanation of why the changes were made. The goal in doing this is to reflect the refining process deck builds should go through to account for changes in the meta. I hope this is helpful to the community. So without further ado I present to you the revamped versions of Blues Clues, Valley Girls, Black Widow, and Money Tree. All can be viewed here on Land of Redemption: https://landofredemption.com/category/complete-decks/the-deck-database/. I do have three brand new deck builds that I plan to share in the coming weeks/months or so when I have the time to write the articles. They are called The Pianist, The Showstopper, and Cherry Picker. Stay tuned...

Also The Deck Database is open to other folks who might want to contribute decks of their own to it. Please remember in order to contribute to the Deck Database you must follow the format of providing a deck list as well as a "primer" of the deck which is an explanation of how the deck works. Also if you fail to update your deck within 1 year it will be moved to The Deck Archive category. If it does get updated it will be moved back to The Deck Database. I hope this can become something like Moxfield is for Magic the Gathering: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/public. This is my inspiration for The Deck Database.

Sounds like a T1 version of type NW except really restrictive. I really like this! I’d want to give it a try in a LGP for sure

This seems like a really fun idea. I especially like that you have a theme (Clean, for example) that defines the combos. You could easily exand that with other fun themes with different color combinations. For example...

NFL Color Duos

Chicago Bears -- Blue & Orange
Green Bay Packers -- Green & Evil Gold
New Orleans Saints -- Gold & Black

Game Play Variations / New Gameplay Type - Clean Color Duos
« Last post by CactusKnee on February 13, 2024, 05:53:45 PM »
Hi all!  I have a new Gameplay Variation I am interested in trying.  Below is my initial concept.  Please feel free to suggest ways to make this better.  I'm tentatively calling it Clean Color Duos Type.

Clean Color Duos.

Prior to the game, each player will roll a D6 die.  The resulting roll will determine the deck the player must build for the upcoming game.  These will be called "color-duos" (or "brigade-duos").  Players cannot play the same brigade-duos.  If the 2nd person to roll rolls the same number as the first person, the 2nd person rolls again.

These are the brigade-duos that each die roll decides: (these brigades are the either a good/evil version of the same shade, or antithetical colors).
1 Gold, Evil Gold
2 Green, Pale Green
3 Red, Crimson
4 Silver, Gray
5 White, Black
6 Player's choice (as long as it is not the same as the other player's brigade-duo).

Left out (because there is no intuitive pairing):
Teal, clay, purple, blue, orange, brown

Deck Building Rules:

1. Deck must contain between 50-56 cards (plus a Reserve with 0-10 cards).  As stated above, it also cannot be the same brigade-duo as your opponent.

2. No Free Rescue LS/Hero cards (Son of God, Chariot of Fire, Eternal Inheritance, etc).

3. Pure Cards Only: no multi-anything cards.
-No multi-brigade characters or enhancements.
-No cards that turn into other brigades. (Example: such as Matthew)
-No dual-alignments cards (example: such as Crowd's Choice).
-No dual-types (DAC, DAE).
-No covenants, curses, or cities.

4. Maximums.
-Maximum of 1 special ability Lost Soul; the rest must be meek.
-Maximum of 1 artifact.
-Maximum of 1 fortress.
-Maximum of 1 site.
-Maximum of 4 dominants.

5. There must be a total of 7 Lost Souls in the deck.  (Hopper can be added, does not count as a LS for deck building purposes, but it DOES count as the 1 special ability LS allowed in the deck).

Winning the game:
Rescue 4 Lost Souls to win.

Do you still have Music Leader? I would be looking to trade though, only asking since it has been so long since you had actually posted this.
