Post by: hi123 on August 30, 2010, 08:30:38 PM
I am sure everyone has heard about the weather catigorie 4 hurricane. We need to pray about this matter. Hurricane Catrina was catigorie 3. And...we dont need another one , that is even worse. ~ I hope we will all pray. Thanks All !

The current forecast has Hurricane Earl staying offshore of the USA. None of the weather experts here in Florida sound concerned.

Katrina was still pretty bad.
It was but 75% of the damage was from the Levi breaking. Level 3 hurricanes are bad but ya still gotta Thank God it isn't category 5 (Andrew).

The correct spelling is "levee". But anyhow, Katrina was a Category 4 when it made landfall, wasn't it?

Information on 2005 Hurricane season Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_Atlantic_hurricane_season).

According to these guys The NOAA (http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/special-reports/katrina.html) hurricane Katrina was a Category 3.

I believe Katrina was a Cat 4 at some point, so it was pushing a Cat 4 Storm Surge when it made landfall.

It was a Cat 5 out at sea but only a 3 when the eye hit land.

Well there you go. Katrina was pushing a Cat 5 Storm surge, which does not dissipate easily in the Gulf. So, even though the winds were down to Cat 3 strength, the storm surge was ultimately what breached the levee.

If it was a Cat 6, could I connect to Url faster?

*waits to see if anyone gets it*

I was going to like that, but I can't because I am supposed to be praying.
