My wife & I have decided to sell our house and try to move closer to my school in Winter Haven. The long commute has become tiresome, especially since we also attend church in Winter Haven. My son's friends (that he made at school and church over the past year) are all down there, and we only have a few more years with him before he takes on the world on his own, so we want to make these years memorable in a good way. ;)
My other kids are homeschooled, so the relocation would not really affect them. In fact, they have rather enjoyed the house and apartment hunting over the past two weeks, and are excited about moving. ;D
Please pray that our house sells quickly. Lord willing, the current market price for our home (if it sells near that amount) would help us pay off our mortgage and get out of credit card debt. That would be a huge blessing, if God wills it. We really have struggled financially since I took on the new teaching position at a Christian school, but I sincerely feel that this was all part of God's plan, so I want to be sensitive to His leading. I don't want to miss God's working just because I want to keep my "dream" house with the pool. ;)
Please also pray that our subsequent hunt for a place to live after the sale of the house will be fruitful, and meet our basic needs.

I will definitely keep this in mind, you have to remember that whatever happens God will hold you. He won't let you down and will always be there, and He is the only one that will ever be able to say that truthfully. God always has a plan better than your own.
I'll definitely keep this in my prayers :)

Praying for your house to sell Tim.

I too will pray for you to sell your house, find a new house to buy, and be able to use the difference to get out of debt. This may seem like a lot to ask for us, but it is small potatoes for God :)
I admire your choice to prioritize your time with family over owning you dream house and pool. It is contrary to the typical American family, but is in perfect alignment with scripture. Keep up the good work!

**UPDATE**
After weeks of cleaning up (and cleaning out) the house, we put it up for sale last Thursday. We had 7 families view the house over Labor Day weekend. We got our first two offers today. Please pray for us as we mull over the offers and see if either will meet our needs. One of them was a full price offer, but they have some addenda that I need to research further. The other was a cash offer, but $20,000 below what we were asking.
God may have provided a buyer in the first 5 days of the listing. We will hopefully know more tomorrow when we get more details from our real estate agent.

That is awesome news. May God give you discernment on what offer to take. I will pray for a smooth closing and that God will open up a door to where he wants you quickly.

We counter-offered the buyer to remove most of the addenda, and they accepted. We officially have a contract on the house! ;D
I would ask for continued prayer as the details are worked out in the next two weeks. At this point, the only reasons they can back out legally are:
1.) If the Appraisal is below the asking price - we are not too worried about this because I had an appraisal last year that was already close to the asking price, and home values in my area have gone up since then.
2.) If the Home Inspection has too many concerns - this is the one we would ask for prayer about. The buyers are doing a V.A. Loan, and our agent said that they are very picky about the condition of the home. If they generate too long of a list of repairs, we may not be able to get everything fixed since we don't have much money on hand.
Hopefully this is a very fast answer to prayer, which would make our closing date October 26th. We would very much like to be moved into our new place before the holidays. Thank you to all who have prayed so far. God is working miracles through you! ;D

That's awesome! Will keep you Guys in prayers still

That is great news for sure!

The inspection is scheduled for Saturday at 10am. Your prayers are appreciated.

The Home Inspection went great! He said that there were no concerns for the major checkpoint areas (roof, AC, electrical, structural damage). The only things he listed were cosmetic, so it looks like the sale is moving forward! ;D
Since your prayers have been so effective thus far, I would now ask for prayer as we switch our focus to finding a new place to live. Our closing date is Oct. 26th. God will provide! ;D

We have moved! ;D
Thank you for your prayer support during this transition time for us. God has provided miracles for us. Here is an update of the last few weeks:
1. The inspection found no issues and we did not have to put out any money to fix anything.
2. The appraisal was well above the selling price, which was beneficial for the buyers.
3. We were able to find a rental house in Winter Haven that was cheaper than all the apartment complexes. The home is actually bigger than the house we sold, even though it has less bedrooms. It is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, with a slow-paced 15-minute commute to my school. We actually now live right behind Legoland and can see their fireworks from the house. ;D
4. The U-Haul company gave us bonus miles for our move, which we ended up needing. We were originally given 31 miles (the actual distance of the move), then they bumped it up to 51 miles, and then the guy at the counter bumped it up to 76 miles when we actually picked up the truck. We were not able to fit everything onto the first truckload, so the extra miles tempted us to make the second trip. We were willing, at that point, to pay the extra 89 cents per mile to get everything moved in one day. When we dropped off the truck, the guy at the counter in Winter Haven decided to just charge us 40 cents per mile for the extra 25 miles.
4. The closing date was moved up to October 15th (this past Thursday).
5. The title company did a wire transfer of the money the very next day (yesterday), and I was already able to start paying off my bills.
So, TL;DR, we sold our house for a tremendous profit, which we are using to pay off debt. We found a nice rental house for the next year that was bigger and cheaper than any apartments. We now have started the next chapter of our lives near my school in Winter Haven.
God is good! All the time! ;D

Yay!!! Praise the Lord Tim, I celebrate with you! So how far is that from West Orlando/Pine Hills?

I fixed your post just a bit. ;)
Seriously, congrats, YMT! Be a blessing to your new neighborhood.

Awesome news!

That is excellent news indeed! To God be all the glory!

It's about an hour. You would take I-4 down to Route 27, then 27 all the way to Winter Haven, then follow the signs to Legoland.

Praise God for his continued answers to prayer! Thanks for keeping us updated.

An hour?! Well I guess it beats my previous 3 1/2 hr drive. I hope to see you soon!!!
