Title: Prayer for Father
Post by: Captain Kirk on June 25, 2009, 09:39:26 AM
*UPDATE*

My grandfather went to be with the Lord at 8:30 pm PST on Tuesday.  He had been in a lot of pain for the past number of weeks following a major stroke and he couldn't do anything for himself, so it was good that the Lord took him.  He died in his sleep.

However, it is really hard on my father.  His mother died 10 years ago, so now both of his parents are gone, albeit in Heaven.

Please pray for him in these coming weeks, as well as the rest of my family.  I know he loved his dad so very much.  My father does not cry very often, so it is hard to see him grieve.

Sorry to hear this kirk.  I had a grandfather in a similar situation.  He had an accident that left him mostly immobilised, similar to a stroke when I was 5.  He lived for 17 more years and we lost him in 1999.  I will be praying for you and your family because I know how emotionally challenging these situations can be.

He survived the surgery to replace the feeding tube, but the has tons of problems and they don't think he has very long to live.

I am flying out this morning to see him and support my family.

I appreciate all your prayers.

Thanks for praying guys.

He is currently living at a rehab place, which is like a temporary nursing home with more care.  The plan is eventually to move him back to my aunt's house, but we don't know if he will live long enough to recover appropriately to do so.  He had another heart attack the other day and now has fluid on his lungs.
