North Heights Lutheran Church and 3DM
« on: September 12, 2019, 04:23:24 PM »
My understanding is that there have been members of the Redemption community that have been a part of North Heights Lutheran Church.  I would greatly appreciate being able to hear from one of these people.

This is NOT to stir up trouble, divisiveness, gossip, etc.  I am asking because I have recently learned that my church is getting involved with 3DM.  There are a couple things that have given me cause for concern.  In the process of trying to understand, I saw online that there was a past connection with North Heights.  There are a lot of allegations online but not a lot of substance that I could find.

My motive here is as a spiritual shepherd of my family and finding accurate information to exercise Godly discernment with.  I would be interested in hearing from any/all sides of this.  If anyone has experience to show that 3DM is a God honoring, Jesus loving, Biblical ministry then great!  If someone has evidence to show  there are problems (heresy, deceit, greed, distortion of the gospel, etc.) then for the spiritual well being of my family and church body, I hope the truth becomes clear.  If the accusations of 3DM are false or it is being used as a scapegoat, that would be good to know.

Again, so far what I can find is somewhat confusing so hearing from someone with personal experience would be appreciated.  If someone doesn't want to respond publicly because of sensitive nature then please e-mail me:   galadgawyn2@yahoo.com    or just message me on here.  If someone knows who I can personally ask, that would be helpful too.  Of course prayer for our church in this matter is also appreciated.

Thank You, a brother in Christ,    Jonathan Pequignot

P.S.  I haven't been on here in a while (had 5 children, got busy). I'm the guy that worked with Travis Brown in Dayton OH.

The thing you have to understand about North Heights is that the leaders have a tendency to "get  drunk on the Holy Spirit".  Obviously, that is good most of the time but sometimes trying to let the HS move and work in your church is just giving people a license to flesh out their unconscious misogynistic, misandrist, and prejudiced desires. In general, this is a problem with protestant churches  but turned out to be very destructive at NHLC. I remember 3DM vaguely and what I choose to takeaway from the experience is that the defiant opposition it received kicked some very kind and innovative leaders out of the Church. It's like they don't want my generation to be involved in the Church at all, but what do you expect? Every form of Protestantism breeds a chaotic and corrupt culture. With relatively no hierarchy leaders can't tell people to sit down and shut up. On the other hand, too much leadership in the protestant church leads to elitist tactics, like you can't take communion at Missouri synod churches if you're a member of any other kind of christian sect.
