Title: My roommate
Post by: The Guardian on September 27, 2008, 12:55:05 PM
Early this morning, one of my roommates was involved in a motorcycle accident. His name is Dawson and he's one of my best friends. Apparently he hit a slick spot while getting off the highway and was still traveling very fast. (No other vehicles were involved in the wreck). Amazingly his injuries are minimal considering the circumstances. Right now we know he has 2 broken wrists and a broken clavicle and they are closely monitoring him for other injuries that may not have been detected yet. He was wearing a helmet and leather jacket so praise God for that. He is a strong Christian and comes from a strong Christian home. Please pray for God to be with him and his family as well as those taking care of him in the hospital.

Updates to follow.

Thanks guys. So far there has been no indication that there are further injuries from what I've mentioned. Obviously things can change overnight, but for now things are going well. Please also pray for his friends and family that we can support him and each other in this tough situation.

Thanks again.

My roommate is doing pretty well. He is back at our apartment for a few days until his surgery tomorrow. Please pray that the surgery is successful and that there are no complications, and that those of us helping him out (roommates, sister and girlfriend) can continue to support him and each other.

Update

He had surgery on Wednesday. It went as well as could be hoped, but there is some concern about long-term damage to his right wrist. Apparently, the damage to the right wrist was worse that what they originally thought from the CAT scans and x-rays. We are trying to remain positive, and we will continue to thank God for His sovereignty in this whole situation.

Thanks for your prayers,

Justin

By God's grace he is not in danger of dying. In fact, he's even starting to work a bit, (he and I are both sales rep for the same company), talking with customers and doing a bit of paperwork. As for long-term damage, only time will tell. We are praising God for whatever happens because there's already been so many miracles in this situation.

Thanks again for the prayers,

Justin

Motorcycle was totaled...not sure whats going to happen with it.
Lately he's been able to go longer and longer in between taking the painkillers prescribed to him, so that's very good.

Thanks for prayers,

Justin
