Texas State Tournament Standings based on participation and placement in events
I'm curious. How did you get the numbers above?
-
1 point for participating in the tournament.
3 pts for a local tournament win, 2 pts for second, 1 point for 3rd place finish
6 pts for a district tournament win, 4 points for 2nd and 2 for a 3rd place finish
12 points for a State Tournament win, 8 points for 2nd, 4 points for 3rd
20 points for the designated district tournament that will be our playgroup's Championship Tournament, 15 points for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, 5 for 4th
place finish
Please let me know if you would care for me to share my rational in setting it up this way
All prizes will be awarded by the hosting church

It all seems pretty clear cut other than why you would have a "designated district" be considered you championship (and worth the most points) instead of simply using the TX State tournament. Why is that?
-
A Tx Championship exists, but only a player from TX can qualify to receive points in the TX Championship I am speaking to here at this post.

So then why not just award points to the top 4 TX natives in the TX State tournament?
-
The State Championships will be run sometime in April or May while the TX Championship will be held at the end of July. I appreciate your suggestions. Keep them coming. I am trying to whip up a little more enthusiasm for the opportunities to participate in tournaments down here.
Prizes for the TX Championship will include promos from past local, district, state and regional tournaments, packs, and/or other merchandise.

December 26th District Results:
Surprise! Surprise! Ben Shadrick placed first in both Type 2-2 Player and in Booster Draft.
Marcus Parker finished 2nd in the Type 2-2 Player event.
Terry Markoff and Jonathan Myers finished in a tie for 2nd place in Booster draft.
John Jacob Martinez won both the Type 1 events.
Terry Markoff finished 2nd and Isaac Aldana 3rd in the 2 player event.
Marcus Rutledge placed 2nd and CJ Jackson finished 3rd in the Multi-Player event.
We had a good showing (14). Women's packs were distributed to each player. 3 Falling Aways were drawn from those freebies.
Next tournament will be held in February (probably).
