Greetings All:
I just updated the Tournament Application at our downloads page. I am adding a new local promo (Panic Demon) and a new district promo (Jonathan, son of Joiada) to the list of available promo cards. These cards enter circulation for tournaments held March 1st and thereafter. Enjoy!

I'm guessing that Rob just wanted to give us a "teaser" or he would have posted the abilities. We'll probably have to wait until someone gets the promos for their tournament or an official playtester that's authorized shares them.
I will confirm what is already fairly obvious - PD is orange. Jon is a Z's Temple priest. :)

The orange Panic Demon has two abilities. One ability is "may band to Panic Demon." :)
And you are right about Jon being a Z's Temple priest. Oooh! and get this: he's teal!

At least in MN you do. Another reason to attend our Type 2 only tourny in March. And in MN orange evil banding can't be negated. (doesn't really matter, no one in MN plays orange)

When I read Bryon's post, I was a little confused and it turns out I was right...the new Panic Demon has not 2, not 4, but 3 abilities for his use!!! Let's just say that there will be a major advantage to making this Panic Demon the first one to enter battle...

Lemme guess. May band to another PD, if this card bands to another PD reveal the bottom card of your deck. If it is evil place it in hand or battle. Cannot be negated.

I'm guessing it is more like the rare Obsidian Minion. It has a "cannot be negated by a good card" phrase.

That statement makes a lot of assumptions that probably aren't true, but if they are, I'm certain it's the reason those players are "increadable". ;) ::)

I am ashamed to admit: I've thought this same thing myself several times. :scratch:
Unfortunately, you need incredible players to test cards though. It is a conundrum that is just a part of life.

Can one of those "incredible players" who already knows the SA of the two promos post those so that us lesser players can atleast think about the cards and maybe have a chance to see just how cool these cards will be in our decks :)

As long as you can get a couple orange demons out, you can block a Garden Tomb deck with ALL of your Panic Demons. You also don't have to worry about losing cards to House at Bethany. These guys work very well against a FBN deck, too. :) I'm gonna get 5 ASAP and build a Type 2 deck with ZERO evil enhancements (might work nicely with Zebulun).
Art is the best of any Panic Demon yet.

As long as you can get a couple orange demons out, you can block a Garden Tomb deck with ALL of your Panic Demons.
Of curse, if a Garden Tomb deck attacks with a Garden Tomb hero while you have two orange demons in your territory - especially if one of them is this one - it almost definitely has A Child is Born waiting.
I'm gonna get 5 ASAP and build a Type 2 deck with ZERO evil enhancements (might work nicely with Zebulun).
Not to ruin your plans, but Ben Arp did that, placed third at nationals with it too.

Not to ruin your plans, but I already did that, and placed third at nationals with it too. Oh, right, Tim just posted that.
There are lots of fun things you can do with 0 evil enhancements... but block consistently isn't one of them. Granted, about 1/2 of my defense was built around having 1/1 guys to choose for blockers. However, the traditional "stand alone" strategies that work in T1 don't work too well against lots of FBN banding and AOCp.

My Salvation Army deck at 07 Nationals had one evil Enhancement in it, and the only reason was because I went back and added Set Fire after Regionals to deal with Fortresses.

Enhancement-less T2 isn't necessarily impressive either...Uzzah x5 and Trembling Demon x5 is pretty mundane actually...

Don't try to discount my mediocre nationals placing. I worked really hard for like 30 minutes to put that defense together!
All sarcasm aside, I do think a work-able panic demons defense would be more impressive than what I used last year.

incredibly readable. very predictable. (I fixed it now)
the spam song actually says: "Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam. LOVELY SPAAAAAAM WODERFUL SPAAAAAAM!" I'd know, I live in in Spam town USA... we have our very own Spam musuem, and it has that song playing in there. There's spam trivia, free spam samples. it's awesome. (this place actually exists, for those of you who haven't seen me rave about it before)

I plan on doing a little clean up once threads get to be a certain age. That should keep at least my sections of the forum from leading to another purge in the future :)

I don't want to poo poo your efforts but I don't really think we need to keep a lot of the stuff in this section much past their posting dates because they are for tournaments that only happen once. Once they're over people don't really need the threads anymore, who still looks at the Northwest 2008 thread? I do think we need to do something to try and save the threads that we'd continue to use though. We should make a thread devoted to thinking up a way to keep a record of the rulings and other important threads that may be in danger of being lost via any future purge.

I have looked at threads that were over a year old in the Official Tournaments section on more than one occasion. Double checking dates from my records, looking for tournament results that I forgot to write down, or looking to see how things were done at a certain tournament "last year".

You are right, and that is why some threads will just be completely deleted.
I have looked at threads that were over a year old in the Official Tournaments section on more than one occasion.
I appreciate that, but as long as purges keep happening, there won't be any threads over a year old at all. I'd rather lose these than ruling ones.

As long as you can get a couple orange demons out, you can block a Garden Tomb deck with ALL of your Panic Demons. You also don't have to worry about losing cards to House at Bethany. These guys work very well against a FBN deck, too. :) I'm gonna get 5 ASAP and build a Type 2 deck with ZERO evil enhancements (might work nicely with Zebulun).

It can work. Using Interrupt the battle cards/negates with them would work nicely.

Its actually rather simple. Open your cards.txt file and paste in the two lines of text necessary to add the two promos and put the two images in your pics folder and you are good to go.

I believe he is referring to the very strict "can't activate two artifacts in the same artifact phase" rule, which U&T "broke."
He is also forgetting the all-powerful implied restriction rule: "Unless otherwise stated..." ;)
