The Texas State results.

Closed Deck:       First Place:  Aaron Burt
                        Second:      John Jacob Martinez
                        Third:         Isaac Aldana
Booster Draft:     First Place:  Jordan Drott
                        Second:      Aaron Burt
                        Third:         Neeka Parker
Type 1-2 Player: First Place:   Aaron Burt
                       Second:       Jordan Drott
                       Third:          Isaac Aldana
Type 2-Multi:     First Place:   Jordan Drott
Second:       John Jacob Martinez, Buddy Dunn (tie)
Type 2-2 Player: First Place:  Ben Shadrick
                       Second:       Marcus Parker
                       Third:          Buddy Dunn
Type 2-Multi:    First Place:   Jason Litchfield
                      Second:       Bethany Dunn
                      Third:           Ben Shadrick

Nine different players placed.  We had several new players.  Watch out for Isaac Aldana and John Jacob Martinez.  They shined.

Not surprisingly Jordan Drott, Ben Shadrick and Aaron Burt won 5 of the 6 events.  They are good!

A great time was had by all, even newcommers Marcus Rutledge, Zack Reynolds, Jhovanny Aldana, Vincent Villalobos and I had a good time, even though we were not able to place.

We are all looking forward to Regionals on Friday and Saturday (July 18th and 19th).

Results were sent out today.

Now, prepare for Regionals.  The 18th and 19th of July.  Out of state players welcome.  Arkansas, come on down.  Oklahoma, come on down.

Oh my. How can you be from Texas and not know that song. I'm not even from Texas and I know it. Have you ever been to a Rangers game? They play it after one of the early innings. I think the 3rd but I could be wrong that. Anywho heres a link to the lyrics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_in_the_Heart_of_Texas

I couldn't find the audio file but I'll try to find a free ringtone or something and bring it to regionals.

Dallas, TX is proud to host this year's South Central Regional Tournament this year.  The fun begins at 10 am Friday, July 18th with Closed Deck.  There will be a $5 one time registration fee to play this tournament to help defray the cost of hosting this event.  Ben Shadrick, your fee is waived because you returned a complete G/H boxed set in mintlike condition.  We will play 5 rounds.  Sometime during this event, there will be a lunch break.  Players can order pizza (all you can eat) for $2 or go to one of the many fine restuarants (fastfood places) in the area.  Around 3:30ish we will begin Booster Draft.  If you return a complete set (one of your doubles, I would presume) of one of the Faith of Our Fathers sets before we start this event, you will receive a free pack of cards (your choice) and an 8" by 11" glossy photo of Brett ripping a Haman's Plot against Chad, or $5.

Closed Deck:   $10
Booster Draft: $12

Saturday, July 19th will open with Type 1-2 Player and Type 2-2 Player events beginning with Deck Registration at about 8:30 am.  We will play 5 or 6 rounds of Type 1 and 3 or 4 rounds of Type 2.   We will take a lunch break around 12 noon.  At about 3:30 ish, we will play the Type 2 events.  3 rounds of multi, Type 1 and  2 rounds of multi, Type 2.
Out of town, out of state, out of mind players welcome.  Bring a first time player to a Dallas tournament and both the new player and the bringer will receive a free pack of Priests (one per player limit).  The count down has begun.  There are only 20 days left.

Type 1 and Type 2:  $2 per event.

Two Weeks to go.  Please let me know if you plan on playing Booster Draft as I have a limited number of tins avaiable.  I ordered 10 from Three Lions two weeks ago but have not received them yet.

Buddy, do you have any extras?

I will be playing Sealed Deck and Booster Draft, as will Aaron. I'm not sure on the open categories yet.

IF Neeka comes on Friday, she'll play Booster.  She's got orientation up at UNT from Wednesday until Friday morning, so she doesn't even know if she'll feel like coming Friday afternoon.

I'll play T22P on Saturday and can judge multi.  Neeka would probably prefer to play T2 on Saturday, although that's flexible.

I plan on playing Sealed, booster, Type 2 multi, but I can do either for 2 player. I know that one of my guys is coming but he is only playing Saturday, Type 1.

Terry If you don't get your tins by midday on the thursday before give me a call and I can buy some out here and bring them. I think our store only has 5 or 6 of them but if you need them i can get them. btw the got a new cell number I emailed it to you but if you didn't get it PM me and I send it again.

Terry,

I still have two or three unopened FoOF tins (if you still need them).  I'll have them with me on Friday.

Also, I can judge Closed Deck if you want to play.

I am planning to play Booster on Friday and whatever we need on Saturday.

See you Friday.

actually, I only have orange defense left.

Hey, Arkansas, come join us.  Toby, if you are reading this let me know if anyone in Arkansas is brave enough (or from any other state) to meet the Texans.  I realize you all have a built in excuse (the price of gas).

Hey Terry Is there hosting at the church like at States? I just want to make sure. It's a real blessing to not have to drive back to Tyler (or sleep in my car).

I am sorry, but I cannot offer to put anyone up at the church for the night.  My wife and I have a late dinner engagement.  Plans do change so I will keep you all posted as to my availability on Friday night.  I am pretty sure I can offer my home but I live 22 miles north in Mckinney.
