I am going to add "Teams" as a tournament category. I will add those rules to the tournament guide when I get time.
Whoah! Hold your horses, me bucko!

The rules from the last two Nationals for TEAMS are available here:

One of the issues with Teams is that I am not sure how to assign RNRS points, if any.
My sense is that teams members will vary from tournament to tournament. Do I give each player the points individually.
-
That's what I would think. Let's say you score it like the online, 10 for a win, 5 for second and 3 for first. Both first place players get 10, and so on and so forth. Which means that each player would have to keep owning to place high.
-
GO TEAMS!!! ;D

As long as the scoring method is known by the players I don't think it is too important whether points are awarded to pairs as a team or if points are awarded as individuals. If it were me I would lean towards no RNRS points for teams, just prizes akin to multi-player at the tournaments.
-
I think RNRS for individual players is absolutely needed. It's the only way to reward players who constantly play the event. That's what RNRS is for.
-
I think the prizes they get at the tournaments are more than enough.
-
Don't insult teams in such a way by denying RNRS points! I don't understand the problem with awarding points individually; can't you just cut the amount given in half or something?
-
Which means that each player would have to keep pwning to place high.

I would like to see RNRS points awarded for teams if it's going to be an official event. I could see waiting until after the 1st of the year when a final decision is made.
Awarding points to each individual player on the team seems like the best solution. It makes for a lot less work since you don't have to keep track of who is on which team. It also eliminates the possiblity of a person being on more than one of the top point winning teams in a season, which could happen if points were awarded on a per team basis instead of individually.

+1 I'm liking that idea... ps. in teams does wall prohibit you from banding to your oponents characters? like they ahve a wall?

Its not an insult, its a money saver as well as a time saver.
-
Sorry I didn't put a wink after that but you know I was kidding, right?

Fortresses are shared between partners so one WoP protects your characters from opponents but you can band to your partners.

Nope, didn't know you were kidding.

My question for teams is this: Will both Teammates get winners Promos/TXP, or will there be only one and they have to fight to the death for it?
-
Neither.
It will be a fight to the pain.
-
Well... At least I'll get to keep my ears.
-
Apparently I won that fight.
I want my TxP card now!

LOL That's the funniest thing I've read on here in a long time. :D
-
Prof Underwood should add that to his quotables.
-
I agree with everyone else that giving independent RNRS points to TEAMS players is the way to go :)

When I ran TEAMS at Nats '08, I had separate prizes for each teammate. I don't know what Rob will do though.

Put together this is quote worthy (especially coming from my favorite movie), but I actually only include individual quotes.
-
Okay, so double the RNRS value of individual play, and then split it between the two players. It balances out.
-
Yeah, that's what I'd say.
-
Rule question with teams, which may not fit here but I don't know how to address it?
Does your teammate get to draw cards if they have "gifts" up and you play a card like "reach."
-
Although I don't know the rules for teams, I was under the impression that your teammate is not considered an opponent.
