I want to thank all of you who were able to make it to the SouthCentral Regionals.  Fellowship was awesome.  New stories to tell, good natured ribbing, strange and unusual combos, rivalries continued, and 11 hours later it was time to say goodnight.

The results:  mailed today

The women got off to a quick lead as Bethany Dunn captured first place in Type 1-2
Player event.  Brett Markoff, returning to play after several years, came in second.  Brandon Crossland snuck ahead of the rest of the field to take home third place honors.

Meanwhile Neeka Parker was schooling her brother on the finer points of the new Starter Decks.  She beat a strong group of competitors to take first place.  Her brother Marcus took second place and Brenna Zerby (a nine year old making her first appearance in a regionals, took third.

By the way, please pray for Marcus' and Neeka's mom who is in ICU.  Marcus and Neeka left the tournament for a few hours to visit her before returning for Booster Draft.

Moving right along, the men finally broke into the win column with a victory posted by John Jacob Martinez in the Type 2-2 Player event (probably because all the women were playing other events at the time).  Jacob and Craig Fountain took home second and third place honors.

After a hot dog feast, 2 of the Multi player events began.

Type 2-Multi was won by Craig Fountain who found that it was easy pickings in Texas.  Buddy Dunn finished second and even I got into the act when I snagged third place.

The Type 1-Multi event was won by Brandon Crossland.  He destroyed the competition.  Noah Johnson slid past Bethany Dunn to take second.  Bethany was just behind him in Lost Soul count.

A 14 player field signed up for Booster Draft.  When the dust had cleared, John Jacob Martinez stood alone.  Marcus Parker and Bethany Dunn finished second and third respectfully.

Our next event will probably be a District in September.  Maybe the 14th.

Until then, good luck at Nationals, for those fortunate enough to be able to make it there.q
