Sounds good
You better be there Josiah! lol
-
I just received an email from Rob asking to change the date of the tournament. We have two choices, July 28, or August 21.
EDIT: Tournament date has been changed. I need a head count so I can start planning food preparation. Thanks!
-
I'll try to make it, but I have no guarantees at this point.
I would also point out in your original post which session would be the "official" session as far as winning the tournament goes.
-
I would say make the single elimination session the tournament that counts bc the early Swiss type will determine bracketing.
I would also have it double elimination from the semifinals in order to have the tournament 3rd placer determined by a game rather then soul differential
-
Good news, we patched the no T2 problem.
We got permission to add it as an official category. I'll talk to chad about the scedual but most likely we will run them simultaneously.
-
Alright everyone I am going to ask for a head count sometime soon, so we can plan out the events for the day. Please let me know if you are coming to the tournament. Thanks everyone and god bless!
-
Dude just saying it July 1 still and I can't make any kind of promise right now
-
Bump! I need a headcount, so start making plans. Whose all coming from MD?
-
Hey guys! This tournament sounds fun. Not sure if I'm coming yet because my first baby will be here. If I do come, I'll probably have George and Ray with me again. So there would be three of us. But no promises yet. Gotta talk to the wifey about it.
-
sorry Chad!! thats my last weekend home before I migrate south for the semester.. and Jon will be gone by then, and with him my deck.. and with my 50hr work week I will probly be sleeping and packing that day.. tho it seems like it would be a really fun day..
-
Chad there is a high chance of me being there
About 85%
-
Is it July 28 or August 21?
-
Neither august 18th the Original Post is updated to my knowledge
-
The tournament is on August 18th.
-
I need to know whose coming to this. It's less then two weeks away!
-
I'll be there chad
Is it only type-1 2P???
-
Sadly, we have too much traveling to do in the next month or two so we'll have to conserve our resources for conferences/vacation...sorry!
-
I, of course, will be there. Gotta hit you up 'bout something though, Chad. Look for a PM.
-
Marti I can pm you chad's number if u want
-
count me in i just got the ok ;D
-
Chad can we get a booster draft added or not possible to get the packs and/or tins this late?
-
Brad won't be there, so I'm guessing that's likely a no...
-
Funny, there's this thing called FedEx that can get you product from one place to another :P. If you all are interested in doing a booster, PM me and we can work something out.
-
Fedex is overrated, I want my booster via carrier pigeon. Have fun with this y'all, wish it could've worked out for me to make it!
-
I would like my packages delivered by pony express aka on horseback. Try carrying some car parts on a saddle. lol
So here's a list of who is coming..
Marti (host)
Chad (host)
Josiah
Jerome
clintia61 (sorry I don't know your name)
Here's who I'm not sure if they are coming...
Charles
Eric
MD crew
Chris
Lancaster crew
If I can get 5 confirmed players that will play booster draft, then we will add it as a category. But I need five CONFIRMED players.
-
Just wanted to bump this with only a day till the tournament also booster will now be available.
-
Just cause I know you guys will all look: Did anyone borrow a Bringing Fear from me in the last year and not return it? I can't find mine.
Also, I will have my large white box available with some low-end cards for you guys to rummage through and take stuff for yourselves or playgroups as I phase completely out of T2 and into very casual T1.
-
I'm very sad that I never got to play you in type 2 considering I moved to t2 too late in this season.
Still thanks for hosting and for continuing to host states
-
Today was a blast, even with small numbers. It was very laid back and I was home by 5:30!
The single-elim model definitely has the potential to be pretty sweet, adding a new level of "something different to do." :D We didn't have enough to really test it, but we can wait and see.
-
I would like to thank Marti for co-hosting with me, the Beers for borrowing their church, and everyone who attended the tournament. We had two new players join us for booster, and I was surprised to say that they both placed in that category.
After the Swiss Style Type 1 2 Player we had our bracket made to determine the seeds...
1. Josiah Beers
2. Keith Lance
3. Charles Johnson
4. Jerome Beers
5. Chad Zepp
After the Elimination tournament....
First Place: Jerome Beers
Second Place: Keith Lance
I will admit that during booster draft we had a bad draw for defense, but the ending was extraordinary. We almost had to play two additional games to determine a winner, but here's the results....
First Place: Dale Metz
Second Place: Josh Metz
Congratulations to all participants, and hope to see you at the next event (possibly on Oct. 13th)

We should plan one when more people can make it. :)
-
If you're in Ship you should tell me to get you :p
-
We should plan one when more people can make it. :)
I sent in the application in a month and a half before the tournament, so there shouldn't of been an issue of awareness. I'll admit it was right after Nationals, and this month is when kids return to college, but there's always the next one.

I find no problem with the timing of the tournament. Some of us (like those in my caravan to Nats) wouldn't be able to make it, but people who weren't able to go still had a tournament to go to. And frankly, trying a new style of tournament is best with lower numbers :)
