Just a head count for the 1st, we'll be doing sealed TEAMS, is anyone interested?

@SoulSeeker, I know Booster is first for Luke's, unsure of the other two.

@Luke, so far Bret and I are confirmed.

Okay, I had had requests to make deck checks early so I planned deck checks at 9:00 A.M, If some people need to come on Friday I am sure we can probably arrange something. I was planning on running each category one at a time since we are only doing three. But if we need to double up we will work something out, but other than that the order is not yet been decided, the price will be $5.00 for general entrance and another $20.00 for booster draft. I hope to see you guys come, and also my group is both excited and nervous to meet you guys and play against you guys, but looking forward to it!

Luke, I will bring a second deck for when I play against your players. The defense of my main deck has been angering some of the people back here and you don't get to use your offense at all against me. I'm looking forward to see how your group is going though.

Im not confirming anything but Ill see if i can swing it. It would probably be good considering Im not the best at playing myself. How long are you thinking this will be going?

Hey Luke,
The Booster cost is too much for me and my boys to play Booster (and my boys are still a bit young yet to understand Booster).  I would prefer that Booster to be either first or last.  If it is in the middle, then my crew may be sitting around.  Just my 2 cents.

Also, I thought about bringing a fun second deck for your playgroup...however, one typically has to pick a deck prior to knowing their opponent.  I will continue to work on a deck that's not too intimidating.

Luke I might be able to make it but might have to leave early to get back to Roberts (curse you soccer!!) So I would prefer booster draft be last as I don't have the money to swing that category at this time. This would also help SoulSeeker's group so they aren't sitting around doing nothing. I will try to borrow a deck that isn't mine for the tournament since I doubt any of your players would enjoy me coming in with Gardenciples. Randall or Brett if one of you could lend me something, even if just a modified starter, that would be helpful. Don't want to scare the n00bs off. (Though just a heads up SoulSeeker, I WILL be checking my normal deck in as well and if we play at any point I'll be using that one, so bring your A game deck as well  ;) )

Hey, Ip670sv,

1.  If I can get to you, can I hop a ride to the tournament?

2.  If so, where exactly are you (town)?

Please reply soon either way, my deadline for getting the time off would be today (Saturday 9/24, in case it somehow doesn't mention it here.)

I live in Wyoming, NY which is about 45 minutes east of Buffalo. If you can get a ride out here or to a nearby city then I'd be happy to take you but if I'm understand what you said a few posts ago you're from Connecticut so I'm not much help.

I hate to say it but your best bet is probably Amtrak. It's expensive (80-100 bucks one way) but really the chances of someone being both willing and able to drive you all the way to the Buffalo area for a local are slim to none. You'd need a place to stay probably both nights (I may be able to provide if Luke can't) and overall you'd just spend way too much to get here for something as unimportant as a local. Anything lower then a state level tournament I really wouldn't bother coming that far for.

This Saturday, at Roberts, the Raiders will be hosting our second (un)official Sealed TEAMS tournament!  We've got a lot of new players eager to learn the game, so if anyone wants to help teach our favorite game, that'd be great!  Cost is $7 (includes three booster packs, food, and other goodies).  Meet at 12 noon, PM if you need directions!

This is the biggest tournament we've had so far since I joined Western NY.

Looking for some feedback on date (not day and time).  I'm right in front of the 6 week mark for tournament application, so I want to know if the following date is okay. It is the Sunday BEFORE Thanksgiving.

I am putting an application in for Sunday, November 20th at 2 PM for a local.  It will be a couple of open categories (likely a T1 & T2 category) with a $5 entry fee.  This time should allow everyone to make it to church and still travel down to our place.

The only negotiable factor is that I could move it forward to the 13th if the 20th interferes with Thanksgiving plans (which I doubt, but I thought I would be courteous).  I avoided the 13th because of the tournament in Waynesburg, PA on the 12th.

Anyway, I'm talking to my group tonight about the desired Promo and then faxing the application in tomorrow. (I suppose you can vote on the promo but I can tell you now: Esther and Angel at Shur are the leading contenders).

Date sounds good, doesn't interfere with any of my Thanksgiving plans.  I don't care which promo it is.

Promo doesn't matter to me, the date sounds good, and is there any chance of adding booster in?

If I do booster, then it will not have the newest tins.  I only have the "older" ROA ones.

I would rather not do this, because everytime I have...I've lost money....lots of it.  That is why I have like 10 Tins unopened now-->a failed booster draft.

yes.  Basically, I bought stock on who told me they wanted to play booster....life happened....not as many played booster as estimated....I have the leftovers collecting dust.  I think they will eventually sell.  It just makes me "gun-shy" to hold booster until the current stock is gone.

Having extra stock is a great reason to hold booster.  You've already invested the money, why not make it back?
