OPEN LOCAL TOURNAMENT

Saturday, March 20th

The tournament season continues here in Orlando. Our next tournament will be a four-event Local.

I still have not been able to secure a church for hosting, but we are on the cusp of approval, so keep praying. For now, tournaments will continue to be held at my new home:

17332 Woodcrest Way
Clermont, FL  34714

I am right near the intersection of Route 192 and US 27, eight miles from Disney World. I also have an air hockey table in my garage, and a Wii in the living room. You are welcome to swim in my unheated pool if you wish.

We will be starting at 9:00am, with deck checks beginning at 8:00am. The current category offerings will be:

MORNING: Type 1 (2-player) or Type 2 (2-player)
AFTERNOON: Type 1 (Multiplayer) or Sealed Deck

The tournament will be free, except a $10 charge for Sealed Deck. Players will not be able to play all categories this time, so choose between the two events for each time period.

This is Orlando, so there are many places to eat out. We can order pizza locally from Hungry Howie's. There is a Wendy's, McDonald's, KFC, and Taco Bell less than a mile from my house. If you are travelling far, overnight accomodations can be arranged. There are a plethora of hotels and vacation homes if you want privacy, but you are welcome to crash at my house if you don't mind a sleeper sofa. ;D

PM or post if you have any questions or just to let me know you are coming.

I still find it extremely ironic that this is the day after I am leaving Orlando. :P

I would play T2 if I could come...it might be a possibility...I'll have to talk to my parents about this. I don't think I could reschedule my flight or anything, but I'll have to see.

I had considered the possibility of holding one category on a day that you will be here, then do the rest on the 20th. I'm not sure if that is legal, so if another host could post their input I would appreciate it.

If I can, and Type 2 is what you want, then maybe we can have the Type 2 2-player category during the week. ask your parents if there is a day that this would even be possible during your vacation. I'll check with my other players. RR can you come on both days?

I don't think we actaully have anything scheduled yet, but the most important thing is for me to actually be there when it's going on. :P

My parents were busy all day and are now tired, so I will do my best to get this sorted out tomorrow.

YMT, I have in the past run T2-MP at a Friday game night following a Saturday tournament I was hosting. (Mostly because I luv T2-MP but it is the event most likely to be short people and time during a standard local/district.) This year, I started noting this on the tournament applications and Rob has not raised this as an issue. So I think you are in the clear if you want to do this.

Please let Bubble Boy play T2 if possible. He spent two months building a deck for the MN T2 tournament and then he had to miss it.  :(

Alright, after taking a good look at my schedule, I can confirm that I will be able to work with just about anything from 5pm on Saturday (the 13th) up till about 9pm (as that's when I would like to go to sleep) on Thursday the 18th. We have no specific events scheduled yet, which should make it easier for you to find a good time to host an event earlier if you choose to do so, but as I suspected there is absolutely no chance of me being able to stay longer, so I won't be seeing you on the 20th.

Hopefully you can work with that. Otherwise, maybe we can just get together and play a game or two. :)

Well, the only problem is that I don't have much time on the weekends. I thought school and work might get in the way, but I guess it isn't a huge deal, since you aren't going to have the whole tournament while I'm there and thus can easily fit a category into a few hours.

I do hate to pester, but my family and I are leaving tomorrow, and we are going to start planning our trip pretty much as soon as we get there, so it would be nice to know now when we'll be doing this so that we don't plan over all the available time slots (and so I can MapQuest now because I'm not sure whether internet will be available there).

My brother and I may come depending if other guys in our play group want to go. If we go, we may leave around 9pm. I guess that would have us arriving around mid night, is that too late Tim?

Are you talking about this weekend? Midnight is fine, but are you sure you meant this one and not the one in April?

This weekend. April we may have to drive up in the morning since a friend of ours is having a bday the night before. You sure mid night isn't too late? I don't want to wake up your family, I understand you have a family.

Yes.
I'm glad my advice paid off.  I told him that I thought his new & improved deck was better than the one that I won the previous local with.  Now if he can only avenge my loss in Air Hockey Attacktix :)

Thanks Mark! Yeah, today I finally beat Mr Harmon, and he was using Genesis/Babylonian deck. I love the new changes to my deck, I added Saul/Paul, and I haven't lost yet, (yet is a key word).
