Someone left a blue binder with a sheet with the Redemption logo taped to the front at game night last night. If it sounds like yours or someone you know, let me know. I will bring it to next game night.

I think that it might have been Levi Peterson's.

What's going to be the new special category for the T2 only?
20th Century Style. No cards created this century allowed.*
*Maybe not, but you never know.
I think that it might have been Levi Peterson's.
Do you know how to contact him? He's friends with Neil Johnson, right?
-
That isn't Levi's I called him. It's one of the Love Brother's books.

What's going to be the new special category for the T2 only?
Given the number of competitors, Wild Bill has decided to convert the T2 only into a two day event. T2-MP will be Friday evening and T2-2P will be Saturday during the day. This means the special category--if any--will need to run sometime between midnight to 8 am or so. Here are some ideas I have, but we have plenty of time to hear your better suggestions...
No special category this year (we should all get some sleep--especially Kirk)
T2 Iron Man
T2 Teams (we should be able to get one round in in 8 hours ;) )
T2 Poor Man's--Total deck must cost less than $X--using Three Lion's Gaming prices-- if bought new
T2 Five Cent--Deck must be built using cards from Bill/Matt/whoever else's 5 cent box
T2 Lend a Deck--Each player brings a deck and adds it to the pile. Each round every player receives a random deck.
At the end prizes are awarded to the *decks* that have the best record, and players (in order from best
to worst record) get to pick a deck to keep.
T2 Devestator Unlimited--T2 decks built using the deck building and other rules from the Devestator era.
Repeat T2 Booster
Repeat T2 Sealed
T2 Tribulation--No good dominants allowed. Evil *always* get to play the first enhancement (barring a special ability
like Angel's Sword) Play to 4 LS.
T2 Give Me Back My Battle Phase--The phrase "Cannot be interrupted" has no effect
"Cannot be Negated" means "Cannot be Prevented."
Also, this year I will be selling commemorative tee shirts and donating all proceeds to Wild Bill to help cover some of the tournament expenses.

Yessssssssssssssssss, please. Prizes better be pretty awesome, but considering Wild Bill's past, I have no doubts about it.

Unfortunately for you, I provide the prizes for the unofficial category. (Last year the T2 Sealed winner got a Que t-shirt.) I could try harder this year to make them awesome...

Depending on who you ask, that will be tough to beat... ::)
T2 Poor Man's--Total deck must cost less than $X--using Three Lion's Gaming prices-- if bought new
This one gets my vote--we would have to require that each player submit a decklist with the prices on it tho otherwise check-in would take forever.

Or we could just say if someone offers you $X you have to sell your deck to them at the end of the tournament. 8)

I would also go for this, but I would want to make a totally new deck, and I don't think I have the cards for that.

What's going to be the new special category for the T2 only?
Due to the amount of great players that show up we are going to play 7 rounds of Type 2-2player on Saturday. Should be a great tune up for Nationals. Friday night we will play three rounds of Multi player. Since not everybody plays Multi we will have other games on hand and of course a new special catagory.
Matt always thinks BIG. I'm thinking of something a little smaller and quicker. I'll call it Type 2-2Player Lite.
-Decks have to be 63 card
-Equal # of good and evil
-3 of any card (except Dom)
-rescue 6 LS to win
-No special ability LS
-Lost souls cannot be put in sites
-Only 4 dom allowed (SoG,AoL,CM and DoN)
Maybe Double elimination so even those that play multi can play.
I'll run everything by SQF and Fortress Alstad members before we decide on the final rules. Let me know what you think.
"Wild Bill The Second"
-
DoN over Burial? The starter would seem fine.
I like the rules though. Bwahahaha.
-

Burial would eliminate one LS to rescue. Since you have to rescue 6 I thought no Burial would be good. DoN at least helps you get rid of an artifact.
-
With 8 lost souls per deck and an entire defense for soul generation, we shouldn't have a problem...
-
That's the idea, always have LS's to rescue.
-
Personally, I am not crazy about this option. It feels more like it's own separate beastie (and closer to T1) rather than a T2 event.
-

I know a good idea when I see one. And this is smart. I just have two fears:
1.) Everyone builds no SA decks.
2.) Not enough people play.
-
Hey all...I may have just come up with an idea that makes T2 TEAMS feasible.
Each TEAM checks in one legal T2 deck.
After check-in the TEAM-mates divide the lost souls evenly between them.
The TEAM-mates now divvy up the rest of the cards as they see fit.
Play TEAMS (with the standard T2-2P time limit).
What do all y'all think?

Brilliance!!!!!!!!

I'm intrigued...
-
We should try it at an upcoming game night, and see how it works.
-
I'd be in for it

I agree. I'm all for it next Friday, as long as I don't have to have you on my team...
Just Kidding Matt. I'd love to be your Teammate. It'd be nice to know what it's like being at the bottom sometimes...
I should stop. I love you man. But I should probably ask the Hobbit if he has a Teammate yet...
...
-
I would like to try this at game night too.
-
Shhhhhh....
You are making everyone else feel bad knowing that we can get multiple T2 TEAMs together at any random game night. Sadly, I will be the lowest ranked player with only 2 Nationals second places to my credit. :(
Jordan I was thinking we should TEAM up. I figure our best shot at winning would be for my deck to be 7 Lost Souls and your deck to hold the remaining 98 cards.
-
I should be able to be there so we have 4 for sure.
-
I WANT to be there, and I should be able to, but I might forget, like last time. :P
-
I would definitely try this out if I didn't have a football game. :-\

I like it!!!
I would play at game night but I would have trouble finding a team mate. Since I have never placed at Nationals and my last teams competition did not turn out so good.
-
I'll be your teammate Bill.
-
I'll be your teammate Bill.
Good , you know we are undefeated as teammates. But I can't make gamenight this Friday, I have to supervise a home footbal game. I can make the ones in October.

How much is booster at the district tournament?
-
It was $10.
-
Tournament Saturday December 10th has been moved from the Cafateria to the Gym at Roseville because of a funneral.
Should have new cards to trade.
-
Just saw the posting for the tourney on Jan 14. Due to my mistake filling out the app, the prices.are a bit high. The reality is that the entry fee will be three dollars, with only Booster being an additional charge, either 10 or 12 depending on what is used. Sorry for any confusion, and I hope to amend that. More info to come later.
Here is the entry as it should read, I have emailed Rob so hopefully it will change:
Arden Hills, MN--January 14, 2012
District Tournament. Host: Jordan Alstad, jsalstad@gmail.com. North Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 W. Hwy. 96, Arden Hills, MN 55112. $3.00 Entry fee then Type: Type 1 - 2 Player (free), Type 2 - 2 Player (free), Type 1 - Multiplayer (free), Type 2 - Multi-player (free), Type 1 - Teams (free), and Booster Draft ($12.00). Starts: 9:00a.m.
In lieu of the entry fee, I will also accept any ten of my FoOF/RoA/Di/TexP wants, or any three of my Promo/UR wants from my needs list. If you plan to do that, let me know which ones you plan to give, so that people know which ones I still need. I haven't decided whether Booster will be a Tin draft or not, I will have to discuss that with my supplier.

Suppose hypothetically I want play sealed - Am I plum out of luck?

I will probably pay with 10 cards.

'fraid so. As much of a Sealed Pro as I am, it's not a very popular category here, so I didn't want to pay to have it. Still hope you can make it.

Sounds good, just let me know which ten on my needs list.

Sam Water Jar
Herod Philip
Elymas the Sorcerer
Behold the Lamb x2
Simeon x2
Anna

Are you going to be able to play type 2 2 player on saturday? If not maybe we could play it at game night friday (its the day before the tournament) instead.
-
Suppose hypothetically I want play sealed - Am I plum out of luck?
I challenge Green Dragon Horn to a Sealed Deck Death Match on the 14th.

Challenge Accepted, Old Timer.
-
This Friday game night at Arden Hills and Saturday Local at Rosevile starting at 10:00am.
We could do Type 2 multi at Game night if people can make it.
James and John the Lesser said they will be making an apperance, so we could do a type A so the top players could play each other more often. We don't want Nathan beating up on all the RLK's with his 156 card deck or the proffesor frustrating the RLK's with his Heroless, or John speeding to 5-1 wins in 7 minutes.
Teams should be fun.
-
We're going to be there?
News to me. I have to work on saturday. I might be able to swap it with somebody, but its unlikely.

You should probably reschedule that.

Ring Wraith told me you guys were coming...
-
Ring Wraith lied.
I haven't even talked to andrew since the last tournament.
-
I didn't mean to state it like that. I must have misunderstood, maybe he was talking about the type 2 only?
-
I think the misunderstanding is my fault. At the Austin local, we were talking about the next month, and things seemed to be leaning towards the cities. We haven't really talked about it since, but that's normal, so I assumed we would probably be going. I was planning on PMing RDT soon. Sorry for the confusion.
I still might come though. I need to get some good competition.
-

Congrats on coming up and winning Type 1-2 player. Hope the competition was tough enough for you.
Although Type 2 Multi didn't turn out the way you hoped even after using your Jedi mind tricks on a new player. ;D
-
The tournament was great, and Perkins an a Chinese Fire Drill made everything better.

At the last tournament in one of my decks I found a RBD,Chariots autographed Rob Anderson Nationals 2006 in red pen, FBTN Ls, and Gifts. Are these anyones because they are not mine.
-
What kind of sleeves?
-
none
-
I am pretty sure they are mine. I don't know of anyone else who has an autographed chariots in our play groups and all those cards were bouncing in and out of decks that night. You can just give them to me tomorrow. Thanks.

Saturday, April 14 Official District 9:30am – 6:00pm Roseville
Last District tournament this year.
First tournament with the new rules.
-
Wish I could have been there...had to prepare for a trip. Hope it was fun.
-
It was expecially fun because Allen Clark showed up and and played all day along with his younger brother and two Zerhuts. A blast from the past. (Allen took 4th in type 1-2player at the 2005 Nationals.) They were amazed at the new rule changes and all the new cards. They still tried to play NJ with the other persons SoG. Sounds like they might get back into it.
Martin dominated type one 2 player. Although they ganged up on him in Multi. After two rounds of booster we had a 4-way tie for first.
-
I felt very stupid after I forgot to put Auto in my deck.
