If plane tickets are not outrageous and I have a spot to sleep I'll try to be there.

I planned to go to at least one tournament this year, but I have concert tickets to my favorite band that weekend and it's the weekend right after my birthday, so I might be a little busy :(.

Westy just might win his first National Championship since he has home field advantage.

Definitely free lodging at the church Friday night. If you needed a place to stay Thursday or Saturday night we could probably work something out.

I'll see if I can get if off work, but I already need to take that Wednesday off, and it'd make it less likely I'd get Nats off... but we'll see.

My excel is not able to support the spread sheet for running tournaments because it is not up to date. If someone has a PC with a spreadsheet that works and would be willing to bring it Tomorrow night that would be great!

Be prepared to play against a little defense when you come to Nationals this year for type 1 - 2 player. Top 5 were balanced or heavy defensive decks.

EXAMPLES
Jordan Alstad Vs Tim Maly: Timed out win for Jordan 1-0
David Carlson Vs Jordan Alstad: 1-1 Tie

Bill, I think you may have gotten some of the Wagenknechts confused because unless Noah was playing two categories at once, I don't think he could've placed in T1 2P and T2 2P.

Yeah, I believe it was Jonathan Wagenknect who played in T2 and placed second.

Just a typo. I had it right on the Tournament winners list. Thanks for catching it. They do look alike. How do we really know which one played what category?

Type A - 2-player
   First: Arianna Turnidge
That name...the next Belle Reuter?

Has Jordan really come over to the dark side of T1?  I mean, the metagame is way more healthy than T2, but still...

Surprisingly there were only four Type A players so competition wasn't all too difficult however it's possible.

Well, Jordan played T1 at States because it wasn't paired against anything and he played T1 at East Central Regs because it wasn't paired with T2 2P and since he won both T1 and T2 2 player at East Central he played Type 1 2P at North Central because it evened out the numbers.

I agree the T1 metagame is at a really good place, but the T2 meta is also really good right now. Most games were very competitive and there was definitely variety in decks being used.

6 players (I used 2 decks):

Judges/Assyrians/Magicians
Disciples/Magicians
Disciples/Egyptians
Judges/Priests/Gates of Jerusalem
Genesis/Egyptians
WC Banding/Pharisees
Disciples/Priests/Assyrians/Magicians

Obviously some common themes, but no two decks exactly alike.  8)

As the only Iowan representative at the tourney, I just want to say thank you to everyone there for the welcoming environment.  I had a lot of fun and look forward to seeing you all again at Nats.  Also, Bill, I think I may have gotten Potiphar's Wife mixed up in the cards that I was trading with you...it may have happened when that group of cards got thrown in the wrong pile.  I don't want to complain since I already know I got a great deal, but I'm just curious if you see her in there so I don't go crazy searching my cards for it.  Thanks again.

Just because the decks aren't alike doesn't mean the metagame is in a good place.  :)

Also consider that first and second were both using disciples, making Westy a little more correct, although I think I agree more with Justin than with Westy.

I guess I'm just curious as to why you think that...  :P

True, but your Disciple deck beat the second place one 7-0 and my Judges/Priests deck would have beat yours had I been able to draw one more card...
