Hi! I'm the one that some of you are giving cards to. I am starting a playgroup at my school in Spencer, NY - I am looking at an October launch (it depends on when my school starts their afterschool clubs.) I think it will meet 1 or 2 days a week afterschool with focus on game play, sportsmanship, and the Biblical basis of Redemption.
When I launch, I will use starters to teach my students how to play and gradually introduce custom decks. I hope to host a first tournament or take students to their first tournament in January (maybe December). I anticipate 5 or so students at first (its a small school), and there is one homeschool family whom I will be giving a starter to.
I hope to host several spring tournaments (I will coordinate with Roy and anyone else holding NY tourneys). Roy hopes that I can host States and/or Regionals. I have 2 maybe 3 different places that I could host tournaments at - depending on tourney size. (Hotels and fast food are relatively close.)
Other NY players give me a shout - I would love your support and your presence in my playgroup. I am in the southern tier of the Finger Lakes region (south of Ithaca). Since it will be a school activity I would need to know in advance if anyone wanted to come to an afterschool playgroup meeting.
Things I will need help with: hosting tournaments, judging tournaments, teaching deck building, teaching TEAMS rules, cards (see thread in Redemption Market). Be on the lookout for tourneys and stuff from the upstate!

If you can move your tournament time table up at all (probably depends on the kids), I can probably help host a Closed Local on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That's also assuming you weren't planning to stay in E-town that whole weekend, of course!
What that would look like is I can bring a bunch of my decks, plus whatever you have put together, kids can pick from those. I wouldn't have to play, just help judge and run things to give you a little practice on a smaller scale.
Except for maybe New Year's Weekend, that's probably the only time I'd be able to come up before the spring thaw ;)

I'm more of a lurker these days, but Ithica isn't too far from me. (I used to travel to Courtland for tournaments.) Are you far enough south to be close to I-86?
If you are, then I hope to make some of your tournaments, and I can bring a little bit of experience.

SoulSeeker: 86 is not that far from me: Spencer is the intersection of Route 96 and Route 34, I-86 has several exits for each and I'm about 20-30 minutes off the highway.
bmc25: If you do host, there is a strong possibility that I will bring a group up - they will need tournament experience, and what student doesn't like a field trip?
Jon and Roy: Ya'll will probably be the first to know the official launch date and number of attendees.
Jon: We can do Thanksgiving at my house if you want, but that is a conversation for texts, skype, or phone. ;D we shall see if a November tournament would be doable.

I'll talk to my wife about hosting a tournament in October..something like Columbus day (Oct. 12ish) if that works with you guys. I used google maps. I'm 2 hours and 9 minutes west of the address that you put in the other thread.

checking in from Rochester, NY! I'm not really active these days but would love the the chance to attend a tourney sometime. have a lot of cards that I could part with. Your group will be in my prayers. Redemption is a great game and I do miss hosting . shout out to Roy and soul seeker God Bless Brothers!
