Here are the Tournament results for our July 17 & 18th NC Regional tournament at North Heights Lutheran Church in Arden Hills, MN. We had a good turnout, felt like a family reunion. I think it was the first time 8 official catagories have been played at a Redemption tournament. One streak was broken, first time in 8 years Tim Maly or Justin Alstad had not won Type 2-2 player. One streak continued, after getting beat by a random little kid in 2004, Tim Maly has won 5 Type 1-2 player titles in a row. Good quality competition all around. The top 4 placers in type 1-2 player were all former national champs.

Agreed, great tournament.
In Type 1 - 2 Player, there were actually 5 players with 15 points, so figuring out third place was rather fun. Unfortunately I ended up on the bottom of that pile and came in seventh... I hope to do as well at Natz. Tim and Gabe dominated all day, and the only real determining game was Tim V Gabe in round 5.
-
Dominated might not be the right word. I think surviving might be better. Tim won four games 5-4 and three games 5-3.
Although a 5-4 win is just as good as a 5-0 win if you are undefeated. I tried my hardest to derail Tim but no luck. Thursday night I made him sleep in a tent in my back yard on a too small air matress. (Told him I was remodeling the spare bed room). And Friday I hired you (Red Dragon Thorn) to keep him up all night. I must have not paid you enough since he got to sleep at 4:30am.
-
I would have had him up til 7 or 8, Its all James' fault, he's the one who wanted to go to bed at 4:30.

had Allen discarded Harvest Time instead of Plague of Frogs, he would have won

I had a blast over there. I am still surprised that I won the distance in Type S.
Now I have to defend my championship for Type S in distance.
I am looking forward to come back next year.

I "might" have won. He could have interrupted/negated it.
Oh well. At that point, I think I made the right move. There was no shortage of Lost Souls, but I kept the Shuffler in the back of my mind. I figured I didn't need Plauge of Frogs because I was already up 4-1 (I think.... It may have been 3-1) at that point.

with a gray enhancement? I don't think Tim uses those, as Balaam's Dis is his only(?) gray.
-
Oh well. There was no way I could have known what would happen. I still feel I made the best choice at the time, Tim simply outplayed me.
Now, Gabe's game is a slightly different story... ;). That game I made a lot of poor choices/mistakes.

Two to be exact. No doubt that they cost you the game. Had you played perfectly you would have won and took 2nd. Often a game between two great players comes down to who makes the biggest/most mistakes. You're a very talented player, Alan. I've seen you come a long way in the past year that I've known (and played against) you. If you keep playing I have no doubt that you'll be known as one of the Redemption elite.

What is type S???

Straw wrapper shooting contest ;D

Not only were my games all that close, I also had to tear plots in my last three games.
Tschow,

In addition to being the all around cool guy you already are.
