I ask because if not, then my dad and I can book flights/hotel rooms for cheaper prices. The sooner we know, the better ('cus then the sooner we can book flights/etc.). Thanks!
*EDIT* See last post.

At this point, there have been more people in favor of trying to fit them in on Thursday and Friday than to try to run them on Wednesday. However, I've only heard from the people who have actually registered so far.
So unless there's an overwhelming flood of demand to run them on Wednesday soon, we won't be running them on Wednesday.

Which events are looking to be on Friday?
Also, sorry - I got mixed up as to which date was which actual day of the week.
-
Well, here's what the official website says:
Thursday July 30:
Type-2 2-Player (6 rounds)
Sealed Deck (6 rounds)
Friday July 31:
Type-1 2-Player (8 rounds)
Type-A 2-Player
Type-2 Multi-Player (4 rounds)
Saturday August 1:
Booster Draft (5 rounds)
Type-1 Multi-Player (4 rounds)
However, the way that Bryon organized CA state, and I think also the schedule they included on the flyer for Natz (forgot to take one, so I'm not positive), had these pairings:
Type-2 2-Player
Type-1 2-Player
Type-1 Multi-Player
Sealed Deck
Booster Draft
Type-2 Multi-Player
Bryon said he liked this layout so that T1 MP wasn't paired against Booster Draft. I'm not sure which is final at this point.

2 things:
1) It truly matters whether T1-2P is on Thursday or Friday, as my dad and I only want to waste money on one night in a hotel, not 3. Can anyone else support either schedule?
2) I was more looking for when "Soul Seeker", "Ironman", and the other "extra events" would be.
-
Ironman typically runs the duration of the tournament weekend, hence the name (it's an endurance game as much as it is a challenge to have the top type 1 deck), however the hosts may edit this for this year, but I would be surprised. ;D
-
Ironman should again run the entire weekend per Mike Wolfe's description of the event on Saturday. He thought the other extra events (inc. Teams) would happen in the evenings after the day's main events, but due to not many confirming whether they'll be there Wednesday or not, he's not yet sure.
-
Ironman really is mainly a test of endurance. I only played 10-11 games since I was so tired. I also only entered because Rock of Ages was allowed, and it allowed me to test it against people and they couldn't say no to a challenge. ::)
*cough*50 card TGT speed really caught people off guard*cough*

Teams was Friday night last year, after the longest day of gaming. It was pretty crazy.
-
Yea, Ben and I have so much endurance, that is why we were able to walk away with victory after playing so many games all day... ;)
But I REALLY want to know if T2 2p and T1 2p are paired against each other. I liked it how it was last year, being able to play both for the first time at a large tournament. When will the official decision be made? I mean, it is already posted on the website as the same as last year's schedule...
And I'll be honest, I don't think it is a good fit putting T2 multi against booster and putting T1 multi against sealed.... Its probably just me, but T1 multi and sealed are the two least popular categories in my books, so pairing them against each other?

I thought T1-MP was only lacking in number of participants because of BD being at the same time...
At least, that was my understanding after reading so many posts about how MASK was failing 'cus BD was at the same time as T1-MP.
Anyways, can someone (a.k.a., Mr. Wolfe, Mr. Rob, etc.) please confirm which schedule for the "official" events is the one being used and what the schedule for "unofficial" events? Thanks!

Sure, you had to go ahead and bring that up again, huh. "Next time why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it"
Anyone get that quote?

I really really hope that booster and t2 multi are not paired.
-
I think last year was the ideal schedule.
-
I really hope that it stays the same as on the website. We won't be able to come down until Friday morning due to some of us unable to take the extra time off work.
-
Which I thought was the whole point of having T1-2P on Friday.
-
So how exactly is this going to work? What is when and on what days? :-\ :P
-
The event schedule as listed on the website is THE event schedule for the primary events. Thursday you play Sealed Deck or Type-2 2-player, Friday you play Type-1 2-Player or Type-2 Multi and Saturday you play Booster Draft or Type-1 Multi.
The extra events that may be held are Teams, Iron Man, or Settlers of Canaan. The Iron Man competition is for playing pick-up games against other competitors any time you can throughout the weekend so there doesn't need to be a scheduled time. Teams and Settlers of Canaan will be held on Thursday and/or Friday evening if they are offered. We're still determining if these extra events will be held and what the details for them will be. The website will be updated when we have confirmation on the extra events.
This should make it clearer for arranging your travel plans.
