Did I just say season? Oh yes.

If I were to host a local and a district, along with states again (if no one else wants it, that is) next tournament season, what would the interest look like? Is there a type 2 base?

Now, I would definitely work with the Maryland hosts (Dwayne and Shawn) in order to ensure that we'd never have two tourneys in the same month (unless it's states, like this year). But, if we throw my venue into this part of the region's mix, we may be more likely to have tournaments almost every month.

All tournaments would be held at the venue for States:
King Street UB Church
162 East King Street
Chambersburg, PA 17201

So, let's get this thread going and see if I can make it work. :)

In His Love,
Marti

I'd probably go to states, not sure about locals / disctricts. It's a far drive.

I will tentatively say that I'm interested because my schooling is done in December.  Traveling is not too big a deal (I have too considering where I live)...it's the lodging prices that I will balk at.  As you likely know, I am highly interested in T2 especially in the lower levels.

I would like to have a local tournament in Hanover. Details can be determined later.

Marti, I would try to come.  Would be difficult during the school year for me to get to Chambersburg, though.  While my college is technically in PA, it's a long way from Greene County over to Chambersburg, especially without a car.  I would definitely come over for anything during the summer.

Also, I will be trying to host a tourney around Christmas time in the Elizabethtown area, and possibly one or two while I'm at school - would be an easy destination for Pittsburgh folk and anyone in eastern Ohio, western Maryland, and northern WV to get to.

If I remember correctly, you go to Waynesburg. I go to Robert Morris, so anything you host during the school year, I would try to get too (or I could even host one down there so you don't have to tourney fee all the time, since I'm assuming you have a venue).

Yep, sounds good.  I'll be trying to find out if my church would let me host something, and in the extremely unlikely event that that falls through, we can always use the student center on campus.

This is GREAT! I'm so excited, PA will be back on the map.

Couple thoughts:

- For my college crew, do you want me to host one of the tournaments during what would be your winter break? I wouldn't mind doing a District in December and like a local in March (when you'd have spring break).

- Would either group (Hanover or E-town) want me to co-host? I totally would. Totally. Yo. :p

As long as 'co-host' includes 'Marti's organizing booster draft!!', then sure!

My plans for hosting right now are to do one tourney per season.  This year, fall and spring would be in Waynesburg, winter/summer would be in E-town.  Fall will probably be early November (mostly b/c there are TONS of campus activities in October clogging up weekends), winter will definitely be the week between Christmas and New Year's (and I have no problem with making that a district and having you co-host - in fact, that would probably make some of my ideas for this even more fun!), no clue for when in spring (maybe Easter Saturday? would be appropriate...), and summer would probably be the weekend after Creation (roughly July 4 area).  The summer/winter two are tourneys that I want to have become annual events, especially considering the holidays they'd be close to.

And I'd love to have a tourney during spring break, only I can't guarantee I'll be home during that week - might end up on a service trip instead.

I'd love to be able to go to something you host, but I doubt I'd be able to do anything over there unless I had somewhere to sleep for Friday night before a Saturday tournament. Getting up at 5am to play Redemption all day and have a 3 hour drive home would just be too tough for me to do.

That works for me. I would need a co-host for the local tournament I'm planning in the fall (Oct. 15). Not 100% sure on some rulings.

Chad, just let me know when. As long as it's not my youth ministry's fall event weekend, I'll definitely come. Hanover's what, 45 minutes tops?

Alright, so I was looking at dates and was thinking, if my church isn't doing a Christmas show (sometimes we do, sometimes we don't) that we may do a Local or District the week before Christmas (December 17th). Thoughts?

That right around I do my Christmas tournament, are you talking a PA only type one?  Otherwise we could try and combine our Christmas tournaments.

We can combine, but I'd like to host it here for the Creation crowd. Or, we can do two that month! :)
