I'd like to present two main options for booster draft at Nationals:
OPTION #1 - Draft 6 card boxes: Treasures, Disciples, Early Church, Persecuted Church, Cloud, Revelation
OPTION #2 - Draft 5 card boxes plus 2 foil packs
The configuration for option two is yet to be determined. The card box most likely to be cut will come from Treasures, Disciples or PC. The foil packs can be any in print (Apostles, Patriarchs, Kings, Angel Wars or Priests) but will most likely come from 2 of the last 3 listed.
If you plan to play in booster draft at Nationals I'd like your feedback on which format you prefer to use.

I won't be at Nationals this year, so I'll be abstaining from the vote. However, I'd like to mention my experience with drafting primarily from boxes - I have a lot of difficulty in lining up heroes and battlewinners sometimes, especially in certain brigades.
For example, Red heroes seem plentiful, but Red battlewinners just seem almost nonexistent. And Blue has some very solid common GEs, such as Abe's Servant to Ur/Third Heaven/Trapped in Cleverness, but Blue heroes are really hard to come by.
For those that read my LoR article about drafting at 2016 Nats, you'll know that I had a plethora of Red heroes, including Abishai (Ki), King Jehoshaphat (Ki) x2, Men of Judah, Army of Simeonites, David the Shepherd, and Jashobeam (Ki). But I never saw one Red battlewinner - no Battle Cry, no Faith of Barak, nothing :(
If I was voting, I'd pick option 2 for this reason. Has anyone else had similar experiences with drafting boxes?

Also not going to Nationals but I drafted out of boxes for Regionals in Iowa and I thought it was fine. I had plenty of battle-winners and heroes to go along with them (Although I may have just got really lucky) and I feel as if others had similar experiences. I feel like foil packs are full of mostly useless or cheap cards so they are not worth the price of admission but I could just be speaking from a person who has all the good cards from foil packs (And plenty of them).

:(
Do you recall if others at your table were also drafting Red and maybe the Red GE just never made it to you?
I'm sure part of that is that Red doesn't have many rare cards from the old sets that come in the box packs. Adding in some foil packs probably won't help much.

The biggest reason I think a foil pack should be part of it is because teal is hard to draft without a priests pack being a part of the draft. I know revelation of john has some priests cards but more often than not there is not enough of a presence of teal in a draft to support using it unless you also draft a priests pack. Some of the older themes are going to be hit or miss with the boxes just due to the tin cards but there is at least a good enough opportunity for every brigade to be represented well so i think teal is the only brigade that i've really seen issues with.

Historically I've found that drafting boxes typically produces more consistent looking decks than any other method. I did draft a veritable Prophets offense last year though...

Not enough information to vote. If PC is cut, definitely want foils (but only if at least one of them is Kings), but if any of the rest of them are cut, I'd prefer boxes.
-
Based on voting that has already taken place, it looks like it's going to be the six boxes.
-
I most probably will never make it to nationals but I'd go for the boxes only. :-\
Hopefully I will be able to do a draft at Lackey some day - but this will never be the same as the real one!

6 boxes!

Cut PC for Kings and priests and I would be 100% with option 2.
Any other combination I'm with option 1.

Indeed, I voted for option 2 because I want Kings and Priests. Kings and Priests give a lot of characters and will be greatly missed should they be left out.
Clearly we need to go with option 1 then so Josh has a slight disadvantage from the get-go. ;)

The disadvantage is mine! :P
All I really want is to get my card for the draft. I've already got Gabe's and Justin's once apiece, so it's only fair...
Ha, right. I suppose if I had to pick between the three I'd want to get your card too in Booster.
Also, can there be an "I'm not playing Booster Draft at Nats" option in the poll for people who are curious how the poll is turning out but aren't playing BD?

Can vouch from Regionals. Josh's card won me booster draft. It's amazing in booster!! And it's a great card all around!! And it being able to negate Gates of Hell makes it even more amazing!!

The current vote is 17 to 6 in favor of 6 boxes.
*Edit--looks like Gabe added that option as well. 8)

I think the idea is that people aren't supposed to be able to see the results until after they vote, which is why I didn't just straight up ask. :P
Thanks Gabe!
