I didn't know they were the same weekend. We need to find some llamas to sack the people responsible for scheduling MN State. This is the second year in a row that it's been the same weekend as another state tournament in our region. (Maybe the llamas could also get on the ball and schedule regionals.)

me and MasterKChief are in the KCK/KCMO area. were both wanting to attend State, but as of right now its looking rather grim. (my CV joints are going out) is there a carpool going through this way? obviously well go in on gas, and we'll spring for breakfast and/or lunch, and im not talking McDonalds either. ;D
-
Who all is playing type 1? Who all is playing type 2?
-
is there going to be a teams category?
-
i dont think there is a teams cat but i will check with mike, and im playing type one so bring your A deck lol Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!
-
well, there should be...im pretty sure any tournament state level and above are required to offer all types of play.
-
Nope,
Nationals is the only tournament that has to offer all 7 - State has to offer 5, regionals 6.
-
is there going to be a teams category?
all of the catagories are listed. I even checked with the host. ;D

source? from the tournament host guide:
3. State Tournaments
- State tournaments are open to all players.
- All four types of play and all six categories of play must be offered.
-
I'm going wherever Tim goes...
-
That's obviously outdated since we now have 7 categories. I believe its in Rob's official announcements in the tournaments board.
Here it is (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=17095.msg268269#msg268269)

From the Tournament Application, as well:
"New for the 2009/2010 Season, Hosts are only required to offer 4 categories of play at District Tournaments and 5 categories at State
and Regional events. The Type 1 - 2 Player and Type 2 - 2 Player categories must be offered at all District, State and Regional
Tournaments."
-
uhhh, i dont see an exact location to where the tournament is being held. can we get a specific location, for those of us who need to MapQuest the way?
-
the exact location is on the main cactus webpage, under 'tournaments'.
