Was Westy using his Moses deck?

No he made some changes to the offense. No more TGT.

Nathan had 2 losses. I think Tim won with +16 differential even with two timeout wins.

Wow, so EC Regionals (30 players in T1-2p, 39 players overall) was the biggest Regional tournament this year :)

How much defense and what types did you see?

Tim 2 timeout wins? thats still 2 points a piece- Just need to close them wins  out. I remember Kirk telling me that 3 timeouts is like a loss.

Still not bigger than MN State.  :P

Really fun tournament, thanks Kirk! Always enjoy seeing our WI neighbors.

I don't recall the exact count but NC Regional was 45+.

Every deck seemed to have at least 6 ECs and 5 EEs and the majority of them had a couple more than that for both characters and enhancements. Note I checked all 30+ decks so I may be misrepresenting in a couple cases.

Defensive flavors of the day: Pharisees, Magicians, and Egyptians (a few Gates of Samaria for good measure).
Offensive flavors of the day: Disciples, Isaiah/Daniel, various aggro banding chains, Judges/Prophets mixes.

And yes - I did say that before. Three timed wins is the same as a loss - you only received 6 points for 3 wins which is the same amount of points someone with 2 wins earned. 2 timed wins may not  hurt you, but 3 often will and definitely 4 will as you can testify to from nationals last year. ;)

Thanks to all for a great turnout! 27 players across 4 states.

I think the Sealed results were as follows- (12 players)
1st: Kirk Dennison
2nd: Josh Knitt
3rd: Scott Bowen

Booster and T2 MP I'm not sure what the results were.

Yeah, I would guess that Iowa is the front-runner for 2014 at this point.  Unfortunately that would probably push TX (which I think also has a strong case) to probably 2016, since it would probably have to jump back to the East again in 2015.  The question is where in the East?  Since this year is in the Northeast, perhaps the Southeast would have a good shot (GA maybe, or FL if YMT changes his mind about big tourneys)?

AL might have a strong case by then.

If Nats '14 is in Iowa, I'll be there. I'll be at any Nats with a Pizza Ranch right down the street.

There is a Perkins a couple miles from the church with a turnabout in between. I will be running the shuttle to Perkins every night on the hour from 10:00pm - 2:00am.

Just watch out for the black hole near Waterloo almost pulled in Sam and Martin on their run at NC regionals.

Last night I just saw the first ever Pizza Ranch (to my recollection) in the Twin Cities. It's about a 15 minute drive from North Heights.

I'd guess with the Roundabout, the shuttle might be delayed on the way there and back...I'd say every two hours.

Hey,

I think Tim won with +16 differential even with two timeout wins.

If my memory serves my right my games were 4-0, 5-0, 5-0, 4-3, 5-2 which would be +18 not +16 ... not that it really matters.

Tim 2 timeout wins? thats still 2 points a piece- Just need to close them wins  out.

The first time out was against a player that had been playing for less than a week and had to read all of the cards in his hand to know what they did but was playing with a good (I'm guessing borrowed) deck and the second timeout was litterally 10 seconds away from finishing.  So I wouldn't be too worried about my time outs ... if it weren't for the fact that I had two of them at North Central Regionals too.  Makes me kinda glad that we're doing Top Cut at nationals :)

Tschow,

Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly

... or FL if YMT changes his mind about big tourneys?

Honestly, a Florida Nats would not make sense unless everyone flies here, or plans their family vacation around Nats. Central Florida is not an easy drive from anywhere. You could get here from Cuba on a man-made raft faster than driving here from most states.  ;)
