This is directed toward most of the MD/VA/PA players, but this past weekend I attended a youth conference at Ocean City, MD called IMPACT. It's sponsored by Youth for Christ Ministries, and have two events each year. One in the spring (end of March) for high school students, and another event in the fall (end of November) for middle school.
While attending the conference there were exhibits and booths set up for various colleges, programs, and sales, and it got me thinking.... think about how at Creation where JoHn M has his booth setup for Gauntlet Games. If we have some interest, I thought about setting up a booth and host small demonstrations so people can learn how to play the game, and possibly host a couple categories for beginners to compete for packs.
We would have some time to discuss ideas, but I wanted to ask what everyone thought about the idea. Thanks!

Sounds like a great idea - I'd definitely try to pitch in, distance might hinder me a bit, though.
Also, I'm sure you meant John M., not Jon M. I certainly don't want to be the one in charge at Creation yet ;)

Glad you want to help! The main goals would be acquiring veterans to volunteer and help run the booth during the convention, and also teaching new players the game rules and the motions of starting a battle. I would like to at least host one maybe two booster drafts during the convention, so the kids can collect cards while learning the gameplay.

I will not know my schedule until closer to the date, but feel free to hit me up to help then :D Sounds like a good idea.

Do you know how much a booth may cost there? I know that's prevented me from doing this kind of thing at other festivals/conventions.
