Long Island celebrates Redemption 2012 Tourney Season with a pre-school season District Tournament at ReBirth Christian Store (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rebirth-Christian-Store/147221887649#!/pages/Rebirth-Christian-Store/147221887649?sk=info) in Valley Stream NY, hosted by ReBirth co-owner and game host Jordan Gable. There is ample free parking in front of the store.
We are all excited to try out brand new deck designs at this upcoming tourney!
Please make sure to include Long Island in your travel plans this summer! We are all going to have a great time!

a. Games begin at 10am
b. Intended Events, Fees, phases (order of events subject to change per player demand):
PHASE 1: NEW TIN Booster Draft = $15 (50% can be paid via Redemption Cash) OR Type 2 2-Player = $3
PHASE 2: Type 1 2-Player = $3
PHASE 3: Type 1 Multiplayer (Teams Option) = $3
DEMOS for beginners (all day): FREE
NOTE: Pre-Nats2011 new cards, the new tin cards, and Daniel (promo) can ALL be used for open events. We have decided to push Booster Draft forward as Phase 1 as condition to use the new cards for open events. Please let us know your thoughts and suggestions on this plan.
c. For those planning to spend Friday night on Long Island, we may most likely declare a pre-approved Local so stay tuned!
d. States attending so far: NY, MA, CT, NJ, PA

For those planning to attend, we need your suggestions and votes on how we should do the three phases so that we cans end by 7pm a the latest and yest maximize competition and fun. The initial post has been updated.

OR
Booster Draft that can be paid 50% via cash + 50% via Redemption® cash? with the possibility of being able to pay with just Redemption® cash?

Ok guys, please see the updated gaming phase plan (see initial post). Let me know your thoughts. We are trying to 'spoil' everyone with the order of events so that we can make it a great and fun day on Long Island as always.

Question: It's a 4 hour drive up to the tournament, and while I am capable of driving both ways in the same day, I wanted to know if someone that lives nearby the store that's willing to offer a place to crash. I know JM would agree with me.

Not sure about the 'crash' part since I do not own the place I live at. Perhaps some players might volunteer their place so let us see. Otherwise those who can afford a bit more may wish to room share at a hotel nearby.

I disagree with banning the new set, moving booster to be phase 1 would be the more viable option. This would also give players who are traveling from further distances more time to get there if they don't want to play booster.

I'm okay with the changes. Is there anyone nearby (within an hour) that has a place for people to stay?

If you are going to ban the new set until after booster, definitely make booster the first category. I'm personally not going to use the new set, but this is the first tournament where they are going to be legal outside of booster and that's a big deal.

I am planning to hold booster draft as Phase 1. This enables those who missed Nats to at least access a new tin set and trade new cards. Decks can then be tweaked to include new tin cards as well as Daniel promo. Please let me know your thoughts. Also, I had to buy the new tins at full price so I will need to keep the BD Draft fee at 15 5 dollars or 15 redcash plus 5 cash. New tins will not be on the narket until perhaps the beginning of September.

There's virtually never leftover stock with Nats. If players don't buy it up, hosts like Roy, John M, or Bill will buy it, or dealers like Ken. There was no buying limit on the new cards, so I'm sure Ken would have purchased anything leftover if no one else wanted it, but I can't say for sure.

I'm all for being able to use the new cards, why else would one attend the first tournament? I can bring my deck, but quite honestly, anything I throw together in a week will be less competitive.

At last count, it'll be just Zeppy and me from our group. We'll be doing our absolute best to make it up for the start of booster.

Could all of you who are attending the Long Island BOOSTER BONANZA , do me a favor. During some of the events you play could you add an intro-prep phase ( the same one we use for teams events) for type 1- 2p categories. The Elders would like to know if it would lessen the effect of 1st Turn Mayhem. We will test this set up to determine if it corrects most of the negatives. At some point we may incorporate it as a game rule ( we need to know before the next rule book is printed)

ReyZen just for a head count I will be bringing 3 ppl from central PA to the tournament. We'll be playing T1-2P and Booster draft. Not sure about T1-multi, because of travel time home!

Chances are, no one would would even be possible to give you a ride has seen it. People like me, who live in Rochester, obviously can't but I'm not going to say that I can't because someone else might be able to.

We eagerly await the great players of the North East. We also honor the presence of our fearless Regional champ who is already here on Long Island for the weekend.
We may most likely declare a pre-Cactus-approved Local at Dario's place tomorrow night if players so decide.
