Local Tournament -- Sept 25th
Hosts: Justin Alstad & Britta Maly
Location: Community of Grace Church
Address: 4000 Linden St, White Bear Lake, MN 55110
Start time: Doors open at 9 am, will start play no later than 10 am.
Categories/Cost:
T1 2P -- Free
T2 2P -- Free
TEAMS -- Free
Booster Draft 2P -- $12
Number of rounds for each category will depend on # of players.
I will have multiple Seasonal and Local Promos available to choose from. 8)
~~COVID Notes~~
*As of now, masks will be encouraged, but not required. (This could change so please check back for updates as the event gets closer).
*We will space out seating for play as much as possible
*We will have single serving snacks/drinks on hand for purchase. For lunch, we will order pizza.
*Hand sanitizer will be available, but we encourage you to bring your own.
*If you are sick or have any symptoms of COVID in the week leading up to the tournament day, we ask that you please stay home, and we will look forward to seeing you at the next tournament!

I am more than willing to switch to MP Booster if all the Booster players wish to do so.

Will you be using set rotation?

Since we have not done a tournament in a year and a half, my thought was to run Classic for this one and help explain rotation to our younger players (granted I'm not sure how many will end up coming) and then do Rotation format for the next tournament.

Do you know about what time you would be starting Booster Draft?

I'm guessing T1 2P will be 3 or 4 rounds so with a quick lunch break, we'll probably start the afternoon events around 2 pm.

As someone who due to a history of medical problems is at high risk with Covid, Do we know the vaccination status of people who are planning to come? We'd love to come, but we also need to prioritize safety.

I have not gotten the vaccine, but I had COVID last year. I believe at least one other person attending is in the same position as I.
I am planning to wear a mask, and I can ask that individual if they would be willing to wear a mask.
Beyond that, I know two individuals coming who have been vaccinated and one student who I don't think is old enough to get the vaccine.

As I mentioned in the first post, barring a statewide mandate or a recommendation from the host church, masks are up to each individual.

Much as we'd love to be there, I think we'll have to sit out until we can be sure of safety. Looking forward to when everyone's gotten their shots and we can come, but until then we need to put safety first.
