PREREGISTER HERE (http://covenantgames.com/2014National.htm)
All of this information was sent in an email to those who had preregistered for Nats. If you know you're going, do Chris Bany a favor and preregister so he has a better idea of numbers. This is not all of the information in the email; I cut down so that everything would fit in one post. Preregister to get the rest of the info.
Attendance: At this point we have 20 players preregistered from 10 different states
Wrapper Redemption: After discussions with Rob, it has been decided that all sales of packs, supplies, games, etc will be through Covenant Games. Since Cactus will not be doing any direct sales, there will not be any wrapper redemption at this year’s Nationals. You will still be able to send them directly to Cactus.
Prizes at Nationals: Redemption cash will be redeemable for only certain items at Nationals. Most likely 3 dollar booster packs and select games from the Covenant Games store. You are welcome to use your winnings to purchase those items at Nationals or use it after the tournament to purchase items directly from Cactus.
Booster Draft: We will not be using tins for this year’s booster draft. The packs for the draft will be: Unlimited, Prophets, Women, Kings, Priests, Disciples. The will give each player 59 cards from the draft which is slightly more than the 56 cards that come out of a tin in a regular draft. (After an outcry over this in the deleted thread, it's possible that this will be changing. Chris has promised an update soon.)
Promos: At registration all players will receive a stack of all Nationals promos that are still available from previous years. The new Nationals promo for this year will only be giving out at this Nationals. Each player gets one of these new promos when they COMPLETE a category of play. Therefore each player has the potential to get 3 of the new National promos. There will also be a new tournament winner promo that will debut.
New Cards: The Early Church Set will be available for sale for the first time at Nationals. However, the cards in this set will not be legal to play until after the tournament. More details on the make up of the pack will be coming.
Single card sales: As mentioned above, all product sales will be from Covenant Games at this tournament. However, players are always welcome to buy, sell, and trade single cards as long as it doesn’t interfere with the tournament itself.
Food: There will be a concession stand open from 10am to 4pm each day. We will have an inexpensive lunch available on site each day. All players are encouraged to eat lunch on site to make sure that play can resume right after lunch. There will be a restaurant map available for those looking for supper options each night.
Local Players: if you are a local player and have parents or siblings that are interested in volunteering to help put on the National tournament, please let me know. I have a sign- up sheet for various things like check in, concessions, or shuttle driver.
Out of Town Players: Please let me know if you will be flying into Rochester. If you give me flight times I can try to arrange transportation from the airport. Also, if you are staying at the hotel and haven't booked your hotel room already, please do so. If you have trouble getting rooms, let me know. The contact info for the hotel is on the Covenant Games web site where you preregistered.
Players staying at the Church for Free: Remember that the Church is NOT available on Saturday night, be sure to make other plans for that night if you are planning on staying over. There are showers at the Church, but be sure to bring your own towels, soap, shampoo, etc. Skipping showers is not an option as it is not fair to other players in the tournament who have to sit next to you.
Hotel Sharing: If you have a hotel room and would like roommates or if you don't have a room but would like to share with someone, there are a number of conversations on the boards regarding room sharing.
All Players: if you will be around on Wednesday or Sunday and would be willing to help with set up or tear down, please let me know.
Unregistered Players: I know there are a number of players out there that are coming that have not registered yet. In order to coordinate a tournament this big it is imperative that we get as many people pre-registered as possible so that we can plan things like tables, times, etc. Please, if you know of anyone that is coming that is not on the below list, get them to send in a registration.
