I like T1 - 2P and Booster the most.  As long as these aren't paired against each other, I won't care about how all other events are scheduled.  Also, just curious - will there be TEAMS?

I would prefer the 7th category to be late Friday, as I will have to leave to drive home Saturday evening.

EDIT:  June 23rd is far and away the best date.  It's probably the only one I can make.

will there be TEAMS?
My current thinking on event schedule is:

Friday (around 7pm)  - TEAMS    and Sealed
Friday (late night)      - T1-mp
Sat (around 8:30am) - T1-2p     and T2-mp
Sat (afternoon)          - Booster and T2-2p

Definitely NOT June 30th, other than that, I don't think I have a preference, but I'll check and post again shortly.

Prof. I voted for the June 23d date. If possible please add a vote for Rebeccah as she is not on the members list. Your tentative schedule is fine by us as shown.

Have you heard anything about possible dates for Ohio/Kentucky tournaments before Nationals. We plan on making Nats but would like to play some others before then. Take care, Allen and Rebeccah.

I've been preoccupied with life and just recently realized how late in the year it was and that we don't have any OH state tournament scheduled yet.  I talked to Travis (who I think has also been pretty busy) about doing the OH tournament (I don't think anyone else in OH is applying for it).

We would like to have one, especially since we've had a state tourney the last several years and it'd be a shame to break the streak.  I have no idea on date yet.  We would of course like to avoid conflicting with your events, Mark.

I would love to come down for your Regional but with the baby due sometime in June/July, I'm not sure thats feasible.  Especially since I'm hoping to make it to Nats with it being that close.  I may not even be able to be at our OH tournament if I happen to be in the hospital that weekend!

As for other OH tournaments, I'm not sure if we'll have any official events but we have plenty of open gaming days which include almost every Tues.

I think we're going to try to decide within the next couple days, so a week's notice shouldn't be a problem.  So could you ONLY do A, or would B & C also be possible for you?

At this point it's looking like there are 3 options:

A - July 14th in TN (at Crashfach's)
B - July 21st in KY (at the normal Oakdale location)
C - July 21st in TN (at Crashfach's)

I will be there if Option B is selected.  TN is too far away to make it work.

If you were going to back out, then why didn't you let have WV have it.   :'(

I continue to mourn my misfortune of not going to Regionals anywhere.

I'm sorry that things worked out this way.  A lot of unplanned stuff happened.  And I'm still hoping to NOT back out, as I'd love for option B to end up happening, but Crash and I want to see which of these options works for the most people.

PS: Hope all is well with you and your family. alc

I havent built a deck this year and have not even played in a competitive game this year other than Micah's Tournament.  I have most of the new cards and a few ideas, but no real time and I am so out of the current strategies this year.  I feel lost lol

I will probably get back into it next year in the fall.  Any word on the new set for this year?

jbeers285 and crustpope, once Mark sets the date I will determine if I will attend. If so either or both of you are welcome to travel down to KY with me...and probably Rebeccah. Matt, we've have not played any either and just want to play some before Nats. Ky is always a great host and the competition is very good as you know.

Iwill contact both of you when we know dates. Take care, Allen.

The closer to PA the more likely it is that I can attend. Dates don't matter (I wouldn't make it for Friday either way), but if T12P is on Saturday, I just might make it.

A couple of us from the southern PA/MD playgroup would like to make it down there. Unfortunately, I work until lateish Friday night, so I would be leaving around 8-10pm Friday night, driving through much of the night, to be there a few hours before the actual tournament, maybe catching some sleep, and all that jazz. The only way this is even remotely possible is if it's at the Oakdale location and T12P starts later in the day (perhaps noon?) so that those of us who wish to, can get some sleep after such a long car ride. Don't make plans around us of course, but if that's viable to do otherwise, it would be greatly appreciated, and I'll do what I can.

jbeers285, we'd love to have you join us, and getting to ride with the Collins would be an added bonus for you :)

Crustpope, who cares about playing competitively.  Just come on down for some fun and fellowship.  I have free doughnuts for you, and it would be great to catch up since we've all been apart since Micah's Tournament.

Chris, if you and some guys are coming all the way from PA, I'll make sure we have T1-2p after you guys arrive.  We'd love to have you.

Red, could you ride with Clift on all 3 dates, since he said any of them would work for him?

uthminister, it would be great to have you and your crew come down.  It's been a while, and it would be great to see everyone again.  I'd also like to catch up with you on your store, your church, and life in general :)

This is an official call from everyone from the NE region who can make it as far as Gettysburg: I am looking for as many people as possible (ideally four people) to make the trip with me. Depending on how many people can make it, I could leave Thursday night or Friday morning, depending.

Hi Mark. I have been in contact with jbeers and it looks like Rebeccah and I, jbeers and his cousin will meet at my home and we will all travel down together for the Friday and Sat. games. R and I will play Sealed and I will play t1-mp after that. Sat would be Booster for R and I and probably t1-2p for both of us. Jbeers will need to respond as to what they will be playing. See you July 20th. Allen

I recently picked up a ton woman's packs would there be in interest in adding these to booster I mean I'm not in a place to be able to donate them for free but I would be willing if I could maybe cover what I spent on them and play boost for free . . . Just a thought could be interesting if someone pulls Falling Away

That's definitely an enticing idea, but I think we'll just have to wait until Sat and ask the people who are going to play the category if their willing to add in a bit more to cover the cost.  Bring them with you so that we can use them if people want them :)

This was such an awesome tournament. I greatly appreciated the Christ-like attitude displayed by everyone.

Allen and Rebecca (sp?) I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you both and look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks for nationals.

T-1 2P was swept by the PA play group from Hanover (all meant in good fun) lol
1st Jmbeers
2nd Chris
3rd Jbeers285

For my first T-2 attempt ever and with lots of help, advice and borrowed cards (thank you Allen and Rebecca) I managed to pull off a 2nd place finish.

Some thoughts from the tournament:

Booster Draft:  I had an AMAZING draft getting Mayhem from my TxP pack and KoT from my Priests pack.  On top of that I was able to get Ira (WC), Annanias+Saphira, Gabriel x 2, and Seven Sons of Sceva (to get KoT back).  I also had several small bands (Mary + Martha old school, Lois + Eunice, and Wise Egyptian and a Saduccees on defense to pull in others).  However none of this did me any good as I watched LSs being given out like candy to other players without being able to do anything about it.  Ah well, at least I got some sweet cards to take home.

T1-2p: My first game was a tough one against Brian Jones, who is the top player in our playgroup and knew exactly what to expect from my deck, and vice-versa.  It showed as we both beat up on each other and ended up with a timeout.  After that I had a couple wins in games that I think my opponents enjoyed as much as I did.  That put me into the championship game against Jerome with 1st place on the line.  It was a great matchup of an unstoppable force (his offense) against an immovable object (my defense), and as we neared the end of the game it was tied 4-4 LSs.  However he was able to make a sneaky attack that I just wasn't quite prepared to stop, and therefore beat me to 5, and dropped me to 4th place.  Back to the drawing board :)

T1-mp: Wow there was a lot of Samuel at the top!  And wow, do I play poorly when it is the middle of the night (ie. playing Mayhem while RBD is active).

TEAMS: Most of our visitors showed up later in the evening, so our TEAMS event was just made of our local playgroup.  This led to some fun games between people who have played each other a lot and know what to expect.  This was also the first time my 2 daughters teamed up together which was also nice to see as they came in 4th place.  My teammate (Brian Jones) and I had practiced more than usual prior to this tournament, and it paid off as we were able to take 1st, and get some momentum leading into Nats.

T2-2p: and T2-mp: I wasn't surprised to see Tyler Stevens take both of these categories.  But I was surprised to see Will Carson place in his first time ever playing the event.

Sealed:  I wasn't surprised to see our reigning national champion (Rebeccah Collins) placing in this event.  But I was surprised that I actually won this event, considering I usually do so poorly.  For once in my life, my Sealed opponents actually drew their LSs.  I was able to play my daughter Alecia in the 2nd round, which was also a treat.  The championship game with Josiah was also really a fun game for both of us as I recall.  Overall a really fun event.

Thanks for the recap prof

It was a great tournament and I really enjoyed myself. I was also inspired by our game. It made me feel warm and fuzzy that someone still plays deffense. I'm committed to my T-1 deck for the rest of this season but I will be seriously looking into the possibilities of deffensive heavy decks in T-1.

(also sorry for pointing out that RBD  :'()

Glad to have someone else at least think about it.  They are a lot of fun, and make games against speed decks WAY more fun.

No problem, it was a good call.  I just really shouldn't play tournament events at 4am :)
