I would really love to become a host, is there any criteria that would keep me from becoming a host?
I have about 10-12 friends that I know will come to my tournament. I know TN is not a huge state in redemption play, but if I request say 15 promos from Rob and then later I find out that there will be about 20 people at the tournament, is there any way I could get more promos?

Talk to Raven. He'd really like some TN tourneys. (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=18113.0)

Sorry but the above questions were not answered, and I have another one.
Does the tournament host get a promo card? The only reason I ask is because if I'm the host and the judge, then I can't play in the tournament. So does everyone who is there get a promo, or just the ones who pay the entry fee/play in the tournament?

Not as long as you meet the minimum age, and have the time and money :)

That's actually a pretty large size group for a local. If each person just pays $2, then you pay for your tournament. Rob usually sends a few more promos than you request just in case more people show up. You mail the extras back to him. If you needed more, I'm sure he'd send them as well.

I think that everyone who checks in a deck and pays the entry fee gets promos. I suppose you could do this as a host, even if you weren't playing.

Even if I don't play in a tourney I host, I always sign in on the sheet and get a promo.

Ok Cool! I was hoping I could do that.

Also, if you think 15 people will come to your tournament, Cactus always sends 5 more than expected (to accommodate extra people you're not aware of attending).
And yes, the tournament host does get a promo.
