Kind regards,

Arden Hill, MN this Friday and Saturday (July 17,18).

Where, you can meet and greet with 10 or so Redemption Champions both RNRS and Natz winners.
(I think at least 10 will be there but I could be wrong)
Somebody help me out:
Chris Bany
Adam Erikson
Justin Alstad
Tim Maly
Gabe Isbell
Is Gil Kimmons coming?
Kevin Shride
Nathan Voigt
Anybody think of any more? Anyone not from NC region coming?

That's because it's not the "Missouri Redemption Championships," it's the North Central Regional Tournament. A "Missouri Championship" would be the Missouri State tournament, which I believe already took place earlier this year.

there was no missouri nor kansas state tournament this year.

As there wasn't a MO state this year, I was trying to entice you to visit your friendly neighbor to the north.
It WILL be in moberly next year lol
Less than eight hours by car. That would be most excellent.

It may be best to go for a state tournament first though before applying for Regionals. What happened to the Missouri player base? They had Nationals a mere two years ago... ???

calling a tournament a "championship" is just freaking weird

This brings up an interesting point.
Missouri hosted Nats, and has since disappeared.
Ohio hosted Nats, and has basically stayed the same.
The West is hosting Nats, and multiple hosts there are already talking of quitting afterward.
Is there a connection between hosting Nats and playgroup falloff? Is Ohio the exception? Should all Nats be in OH from now on then? ;)

To be the first to point out the obvious...

Minnesota hosted the largest Nats up to that time in 2002.
Minnesota hosted the largest Nats ever in 2005.
Minnesota hosted a State tournament in 2009 with 62 players in attendance.
It appears you need a certain Nordic stoicism to survive the Nats hosting experience. Well, that and the fact that Minnesotans are forced inside for survival for 8 months out of the year and we need something to do. ;)

Hey,
Todd Gordon is the guy that hosted nationals in 2007 in Kansas City. He felt God calling him in a different direction and quit hosting tournaments in early 2008 to move in that different direction. To the best of my knowledge the player base in MO is still there. Craig brought his group up to the MN Type 2 local again this year, there are monthly tournaments in Clinton, MO hosted by Michael Parks and I am aware of two other groups in the state of Missouri that exist but have simply never hosted an official tournament. So the players are still in MO they just don't have a big name hosting personality anymore.
You can add New Orleans to cities that hosted nationals and then fell off of the Redemption map, although there was a little hurricane that had something to do with that.
Tschow,
Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly

Oh I get it, "fell off the map."

But I inherited the card base of one of its biggest hosts and players. :)

I think all of us who have hosted a state or higher tourney know that it can be very taxing on time and even funds. I've joked with the guys about what it would be like to host a Nats up here in Oregon and I honestly can't imagine how much goes into all the preparation for a tourney of that level. Playing in tournaments is a lot of fun but hosting can be hard and a burn out at times. Plus if a host moves or decides to stop it can cause an entire play group to stop. I had a group of 30 in my hometown before I moved to my current job and that group stopped instantly and although its sad its still true in many cases.

missouri is mainly based of of a Bible college known as Central Christian College Of the Bible, there are 13 people from there. prob is they r College kids. college kids aren't at college 365 days a year. i know of some other people. Joey goes to cccb, and he is a big host. MO is still here trust me (i am a Missourian)
