A number of the tournament documents have been updated and are available at Cactus' downloads page (https://www.cactusgamedesign.com/downloads/).
Tournament Applications
- Two different applications are now available, one with prize packs (traditional), one without prize packs (reduced cost)
- Local and District tournaments have merged into one category called “Seasonal tournament”.
- Not all categories are required at States and Regionals
- Type 1 Unlimited has been added for all levels of tournaments
Tournament Host Instructions
- RNRS points have been adjusted to account for Seasonal tournaments
Tournament Host Guide
- Table of Contents with links has been added
- Language updated to reflect changes mentioned above
- Several sections were updated to reflect practices that are already in place to make them “official”
- Explanation for handling error packs in booster draft
- Turn time limits updated. Notably discard phase reduced to 60 seconds. No additional time for searches outside of battle. Bonus time for searches during battle only when a pile is 20 or more cards.
- Explanation of how to appeal a ruling when multiple judges oversee a category
- Language added to allow hosts to play in a category of 8 or fewer players at a Seasonal tournament
- Updated language recommendations for handling an illegal deck
