Hello all,
I have the privilege of announcing the basic info for the 2019 Silver Anniversary National Tournament! I am greatly honored to have been chosen to bring Nationals back to Knoxville, TN for this wonderful game. While this post is going to be very light on info (for now), I do want to at least talk about and speculate about some options for the tournament itself.
Due to this being the Silver Anniversary, I think it would be wonderful to see if we could do most if not all of the game modes that have been played before. This would include:
Ironman
Garbage Sealed
Type Half
Cube Draft
Not sure if I'm missing some.
I haven't talked real details about the actual tournament and week with Rob, but there is a possibility to open the week up for more activities (provided the powers that be see that as feasible). With this also being an anniversary tournament, we obviously want as many people to be there as possible. So I will try to come up with some creative and possibly very different ways to make this tournament affordable for everyone (to the best of my ability).
I will also go ahead and announce that everyone is more than welcome to stay at the church (that has built-in showers), and will be lining up a hotel as well. I will also have food available for both breakfast and lunch and any leftovers will and can be sold for dinner, that way people don't feel like they have to spend money on outside food or gas if they can't afford that expense.
I will bring you any new information as it comes out, and feel free to ask any questions or give any suggestions!
We do already have one major change announcement. The tournament will move from the first weekend of August to the Last weekend in July. So the tournament will be August 1st - August 3rd.

Reserved in case I need more space!

HYPE! Can't wait to be there.

Oh boy! I really hope I can make! This sound like it will be awesome!

Will Rob be there by chance?? I hope so.

IT'S IN KNOXVILLE AGAIN!?

And yes, please bring back Garbage Sealed. I loved playing that!

If this is in TN instead of somewhere more east it seems my chances of attending just went from about 10% to 50%. Not too shabby
You might be rolling the dice on this one. There are actually 15 states that have a city named Knoxville in it. They are W. Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nebraska, Missouri, Mississippi, Maryland, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama and lastly California. 9 of those States are east of the Great Mississippi River. Just some irrelevant geographical information because your chances are much higher than mine of attending Nats.
:)
Godspeed,
Mike

Would be great if there will be an online tournament set up in parallel again (even if participation was very low unfortunately last time)!

Unfortunately the online event won't happen again...at least not in conjunction with the Nationals event. Go ahead and book your airline tickets. 8)

Time availability and "sponsoring" are more than challanging! ;D But would be really cool if I could make it possible one day!

Are the finals of the 2Ps (T1 and T2) going to be live streamed on twitch and youtube?

Why not?

Partly due to miscommunication about it last year. Party due to Cactus not wanting an alternative to traveling to Nationals during the event. Like I said, we can probably do something like that before or after, just not during.
