Semester finals

The highschool here is having some finals in Febuary. Crazy crazy stuff. We only started like a couple weeks earlier, but had our finals a month earlier.

TJ's english teacher is the one who was in the national news a couple of years ago for wanting to bring her handgun to school with her. She also made the parents read a book and do a book report, and TJ's grade depended on it! So I made my wife do it. :D

Wow!
If you ask my english teach why she wanted to become a teacher, then she will take up the whole class period. And when she talks she pays no attention to what the people in the class are doing. :)
-
Best kind of teacher. Either that, or one that can keep your interest in said topic.

So the prompt that our teacher gave us for our essay was this,
"Choose a character from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (Captain Hammer/Dr. Horrible/Penny) and classify their hero type (dystopian, traditional, satiric, antihero, etc.). Discuss why their character best fits your hero classification and why they do not fit another type of classification."
I argued that Dr. Horrible is a dystopian hero and not a traditional hero. What would you have said?
~Britta
-
I think Schaef isn't a traditional hero either. He didn't even get a custom one at Nats.

I had a History teacher who did that way back when i was in school. We just asked him about something in history and he would go on and on about it. it was awesome we got out of doing so much work and it took him about 2 weeks to realize thats the reason we asked all these questions.

I would have wrote on Captain Hammer's satiric nature

You know you have an awesome Englisch teacher when you spend the whole week talking about nothing except the horrible endings to Fairy Tales you can make up.
-
That is awesome!
-
I talked about CoD in spanish class.
Best part was, we talked about it in english.
-
Now we have an assignment to write an already known fairy tale with a different ending or just make up our own. We had a wonderful discussion. Star Wars is not a fairy tale. It had all the elements of one but it is still not a fairy tale. :P
I wanted to rewrite the ending to one of the Star Wars movies for my fairy tale but now it is not permitted. :(

Don't even get me started on the rewriting that I would do to Star Wars (specifically about Count Dooku (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=15140.msg238651#msg238651) and Yoda (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=15140.msg238653#msg238653))
-
The problem with your premise about Dooku is that Cypho Dias was not a traitor for one. Sidious got a shape shifter bounty hunter like Zam Wessell to pose as Dias in order to place the order.
-
I would have re-written it to star Nathan Fillion and David Tennant.

I don't know where you got that information (perhaps from a Star Wars book?), but I don't remember that being said in any of the main 6 movies. At any rate, my premise would have fit with the information up through Attack of the Clones, and would have made for a much more interesting 3rd movie in my opinion.
-
It definately wasn't in the movies. I am trying to recall the location where I read that, but I can't remember the specifics. Either way, Dooku was kind of lame, and could have been more interesting either by your suggestions or simply by having him return to his old Jedi Loyalty in the third film.
-
The thing is, he always HAD Jedi loyalty. He was fighting to destroy the Sith in the senate. (Realizes this is just what he said, and not the truth)
-
No, he intended to usurp the Emperor's throne, and become the Dark Lord incarnate, because he was secretly Saruman!

And Willie Wonka's Father, spoilers.

He had a clone and was fighting on the jedi side, so after Anikin killed him, he was brought back to life in the form of his clone.
