Title: Writing on Redemption
Post by: katedid on March 31, 2011, 04:03:15 PM
I'm writing an article on Redemption for the Roberts Weslyan College paper. Besides the obvious background and game play, any suggestions on stuff i should include?

I would check the Testimonials section of the boards (down below the off-topic forum) to get anecdotes of how Redemption is more than a game for a lot of people. At my church, people have actually joined the church because their kids were brought through Redemption activities, etc.

I will definately be doing that. The basis for the article is to introduce the campus to a little known ministry. Not very many people realize thats what it is.

So many people utilize it to not only reach kids with the Gospel, but to reach gamers of all ages. Redemption is the second longest running Collectible Card Game (CCG) thanks to a commited base of players and the tireless work of the staff of Cactus Game Design (namely Rob Anderson). Volunteer playtesters and Redemption elders help to carry the load of developing new cards and mechanics along with the tireless and generally thankless effort to update the complex types of game rules associated with a CCG. There is a year long tournament season each year beginning in mid August which includes different levels of tournaments from coast-to-coast, all culminating in a National Tournament held in various locations (Minnesota this year). At that tournament the National Champion is crowned in all seven types of face-to-face play along with the Online Champion. Prizes for all of the tournaments are awarded in product or certificates which can be redeemed for product. If you want any more info, please feel free to send me a personal message on here...
