Title: Trouble with Computer

Hey I'm using an Averatec laptop and when I put a disc in it doesn't respond to it. It just acts like there's no disc in the drive. Any technical geniuses that could help me?

You try rebooting, system restore, etc...?

does the device manager show the cdrom drive as fine?

Yes, the cd just doesnt show up.

is it just a certain cd, or all cds?  Is it all types of cds (games, programs, music cds), or just one?

Hmm, yeah I know sometimes CD's mess up and the computer can't read them.

Also, is the CD visible from explorer (My Computer), or is the problem that nothing happens automatically?
