Post by: 77matthew on April 14, 2009, 07:50:29 PM
Can I use a 3-time used starter deck at my tournament?

It's really up to the host. From the host's point of view this can be a bit dicey because he/she has to pay for both starter decks if he/she needs to open a box to get a deck for a player.

In any event, you need to bring both decks because you don't get to pick which one to use.

hey,

We've allowed players to check in starter decks, but if they are marked, they must bring enough card sleeves to be able to sleeve their whole deck.

Also realize that bringing your own starter does not exclude you from paying the fee for that category. The booster packs still come from the host, and the host has to recoup the cost of including that category.

In which case, you SHOULDN'T bring your own packs, unless they aren't offering what you wish to "draw" from, 'cus it's basically free packs at that point.

And if they're not offering what you want to draw, they most likely are not going to let you use your own packs.

Hey,
If we somehow worked out the $$ side of allowing a player to bring their own packs, I would only do so if the packs were shuffled in to the rest of the packs the host had available. Especially with the older packs, players have been known to be able to determine what rare/ultra rare is in a pack without opening it.

In roch what we will do is have the player pay 5$ to cover the cost of the packs - he has to bring both a G and H deck.
