Title: Top 10 converted evil characters
Post by: jbeers285 on April 12, 2013, 09:35:17 PM
I'd like to know who think are the best EC's once they are converted to heroes.

My list will come later.

1. Proud Pharisee, a play first with a potential draw two, excellent
2. Abimelech, A good warrior class judge, with a useful ability if you have gideon in your discard pile (which you very well might if you are playing judges)
3. Paul (kinda cheating I know)
4. Balaam, a pseudo-FBTN prophet
5. Namaan (also kinda cheating)
6. Pharaoh's Cupbearer, soul gen and just push another genesis hero into battle
7. Goliath, negates a lot of what the defense could do, also can use foreign sword
8. Emperor Vittellius, large potential draw
9. The Dreaming Pharaoh, potential draw 3
10.  Gibeonite Delegates, protected from discard, generates a soul if he loses.

Hadn't thought about balaam I should have though since I crushed myself in a game against the Gaurdian when he used his converted balaam to stomp me lol

Assyrian survivor is another I like with the protect from discard and low numbers or inish

I bought that when an evil character was converted it lost its special ability 'cause it's just presumed that it doesn't fit in with being a hero?

No. from the REG

"Special abilities on Evil Characters (and evil weapons)* that have been converted to Heroes may activate, except
for special abilities that specifically target Heroes."

I'm not sure what Eleazors sword does, but it sure is fun making Fallen Warrior strength 40/40. Do his abilities get reset if he converts?

Surprised that Damsel hasn't shown up yet. Especially if converted to green. Female NT prophet ftw.

The list Damsel would top is "Top 10 Evil Characters to choose as blockers."

Too bad that any combos you are referencing would not work anymore, which diminishes his power as a hero.  He's great for low numbers (especially since he doesn't get bigger from defeating EC) and Foreign Sword, sure, but:

Eleazar's Sword
Holder's Heroes are immune to male Philistines.

From the REG:
Characters cannot be immune to cards of the same alignment.

Because she does not work as a hero except to be a prophet (and Anna fits the same gender-testament-prophet role with an actual ability), since her ability doesn't work at all when converted.

Damsel with Spirit of Divination
If blocking, reveal opponent's hand.  For each good brigade revealed, draw a card.  Cannot be interrupted.

Sauce is the reason that Immunity rule was added.  :P
