Golden anniversary is 50 years I thought?
Golden is usually used in terms of birthdays and means the age is equal to the day portion of the date (i.e.: my golden birthday was when I turned 20 as my birthday is March 20th).

That's only if you come from the crazy parts of the country (like my wife does).
All sane people know that golden = 50, if it means anything at all.
