Title: The White Rider
Post by: Korunks on August 18, 2009, 10:19:14 AM
I was just wondering what the people here felt about, the White Rider from revelation 6:1-2.  I have heard some people claim he is the Anti-Christ, others claim it is Jesus conquering with the gospel, or maybe the Holy Spirit conquering.  I am currently of the opinion that it is the Anti-Christ, but I am curious as to other peoples thoughts.

Right, it is undoubtedly Jesus in Revelation 19, but I more focused on the one people usually consider the AC.  I take it you believe him to be the AC?

Well, Here's my opinion. I'm a good ovserver. It says: And I saw when the Lamb- That there must be talking about the Lamb of God othewise know as Jesus. When it says and he that sat on him, the he is not capitalized. So that "he" was definetely not Christ but either, yes posibly AC. But if you keep reading onto somewhere like the moon became blood and the sun became black, those are the signs of the second advent of Christ. All I have to say, which you would here alot now days especially if you go to church regularly, is be prepared and fast so if there is an AC, you will be wise in your decisions.

Well perhaps I should give a little more background for my question.  I am working on a project and need to know if this "guy" is widely considered evil by the redemption community at large because I am striving for accuracy, and needed to make sure my interpretation is accurate.  Unless an outpouring of comment saying otherwise I will probably just consider him evil and move on.

Well he does have a crown on his head and the white horse stands for conquest. He may be good but its just how you understand it. The next ones they describe are definetely evil. My mom thinks he might be good. I'll tell you later for sure. I'll ask my dad because I'm sure he will definately know.

Shawn, I don't have time now but I would recommend finding some biblical commentary to support one way or the other...

Brad the problem is, I can find biblical commentary on both sides of the issue. :p

The Rider in verse 19 is Jesus but the first one isn't. The first one would probably come to do the bidding of God. So even though we might think its a bad thing he might do, It's still what God told him to do. That is what my dad said. And the second one it says to take away peace, and it says somewhere in the Bible, too, Jesus said"I come not to bring peace but to bring....individuallidy I think."
