Title: The Guardian
Post by: Xonathan on October 18, 2016, 10:42:46 AM
Hello friends,

I face off against the Guardian this week on ROOT and I need a sure fire deck to beat him with. Any ideas ?

Also, he can't know about this... lol

I would use a deck with 45 Hoppers and 5 Son of God cards. That should get you pretty close.   Maybe throw in a New Jerusalem or The Second Coming just in case.

But seriously, just let me know when you are playing him, and I will dose his nightly coke with some NyQuil or something...

But really not seriously, I can give you a decklist of what he played me with in ROOT and a recent tournament, for the low low price of $20. I'll PM you my PayPal if interested...An extra 5 and I'll send you the list I used to beat him...

I mean if he's already resorting to bribery, he could just bribe the officiator of the tournament to say he won.  ;)

Seeing as he and I already played this tournament, it would be unethical for me to give you his decklist.

Which is fine, considering I've already forgotten what he played.

FWIW, I use a Daniel deck and Guardian has been too afraid to play me.... ever....

So despite me using a deck I'd never used before, Xonathan had several of the right counters. I had a couple Cloud Heroes and he had Jericho. I had several CBN cards and he had Coliseum. I had a defense that was stronger against humans and he ran mostly Angels. So now I just have to ask...who's been spying on me?  :o

In the end, I managed a close 5-4 victory by making a couple strategic moves and only one mistake, and aided by a couple turns of soul drought at the very beginning.  8)

lol I can honestly say no one gave me any idea what your were playing. The deck I used was something I've been testing for a bit and was showing some progress. I played a 63 card version against Kevinthedude where he won but I was very close. Then I cut it to 51 against Prof A and I beat his new heroless deck so I was a little confident. I just wish I had wool fleece out sooner so you couldn't  grab a third of my defense lol.
