I found this random hardcore parody online:

Don't eat me alive, but that noridc/black metal atmospheric riff that cuts in at about :20 sounds pretty good, even if its not terribly original. The rest of the song and video... well, I couldn't stop laughing. Is this band for real? I can't actually tell, but its pathetic regardless.
-
They've been dubbed "crab core" by some British music magazine.
They also covered a version of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl"
As far as I can tell they're somewhat serious.

I mean, it sounds terribly like a rip off of, well, any hardcore band. It sounds exactly like... some song from back in the day I can't remember. I don't like metal so I can't comment.

Haha, crab core :D I think squat core sounds better, personally. They have a little talent with their instruments, and the music is somewhat professionally produced, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they're about as serious as Weird Al.

Actually, atmospherics like that are fairly unusual to hardcore. They're more native to black metal, but it was actually a good sound when layered with the chugging. I think I'm actually going to use a section with bottom heavy riffing and a black metal feel like that in a song that I'm writing right now.

That was awesome! There was nothing funny to me about it. Did I miss something?
-
Personally, I think most to all music videos are riddiculus, so I'm not sure what's exceptionally funny about this one.
-
*Ahem* I showed you that thank you very much and told you about the "crabcore" thing. ;)
Also, I seriously don't think they're a parody band... They're trying to be serious, which makes it even worse. :D

I go ahead and agree. Some parts are actually good... usually when the guy isnt "singing."

I really hope they're not being serious... for heavens sake, they're using a vocoder on the vocals, how completely abused is that? Its like the worst of both worlds, hardcore and popular music :P

Tears are streaming down my face.

I'm still struggling to determine whether or not they're serious. In either case, it's bloody hilarious. A few seconds here and there sounded good but altogether it was like watching the Myspace demographic's "Create-A-Song" contest.

I know... they look like they might be serious, but I can hardly fathom that.

I know next to nothing about metal music, but what in the world was that techno interlude doing in there? Is that common in a metal song? ???
-
Progressive metal may have wierd interludes, but this definately isnt progressive, so no, it doesnt belong in there.

There's a lot of hardcore bands that are into that kind of thing now, yeah.
-
Attack Attack is pretty popular around my group. I guess they're serious. a couple people at youth group are big fans.
-
i guess i don't have any taste at all as i really liked it. I thought it was very innovative and hip.
-
It's like Akon's synth meats the worst hardcore band in history.

I will say this...I didn't get the music video at all it was kinda retarded, but the music it's self was really good IMO.
-
That was basically my feelings, exceppt they need to seperate the metal and the techno. Bad mesh.
-
I actually saw this on you-tube one time and enjoyed it up until they added the techno part, just totally changed the quality of the song it went from like hey john what's your name by the devil wears prada to poker face by lady gaga. not cool.
BTW I missed TDWP @ Warped Tour. If anybody saw them, how was it?
-
the techno stuff is called electronica Attack Attack is ok Sky Eats Airplane is better
No Caleb, Attack Attack is HORRIBLE!
-
lol Nice. I especially loved when the singer did the running man, the two-second keyboard interlude, and the techno near the end.
-
It seems like Attack Attack has been around for a while, though maybe I'm confusing them with another band. I think the song is called "Stick Stickly," so obviously they're fans of repetition.
In general, I don't like music that screams at me. Punk bands like Green Day and even Relient K will throw in the occational scream nowadays, but it's added artfully, I think.

Wikipedia said that "stick stickly" was like some TV show mascot... lol

Well you wouldn't like this one song of the TFK new album. One song on it starts out soft, then gets progressively harder. It goes through everything that TFK has done lyrically in their carrer. Me and my friends called it "TFK in a blender" lol That is what it sounded like to me...

he was more then just a tv show mascot.
he was a nickelodeon icon and a mascot for the network itself.
