Well the Zune side is more like it. I have been thinking of switching from a 8gb Ipod Nano 4th Gen (Same as the new one just doesnt have the radio) to a 16gb Zune HD. I was wondering if any of you have used one before or have any experience with the Zune Software. Also note that for me purchasing a 16gb+ Ipod Touch is a bit out of my price range so this is one reason why im looking at the Zune. I also wouldnt be looking to play Games or anything like that just Music and Videos.
Thanks!

i have a halo edition zune. havent played with it for about 2 years though. :)

I've had a Zune for several years now, and I LOVE it! The software is easy to use, and I use it to listen to music on my computer now, too (I used to use iTunes, but switched over to the Zune software).

iPod Touch is superior to any Zune, and always will be.
Zune: 0 3rd party apps (maybe 10 by Microsoft)
iPod: ~90,000

thats really a matter of opinion. yes, the app store is unparalleled, but thats meaningless if you dont care about apps. in terms of techs and specs, archos is the absolute best out there. they blow any media player out of the water.

Does it have any way to transfer your Itunes libary or do you have to pop in all the CD's again?

As far as I know, it can read the iTunes music just fine. I didn't recopy anything when I switched over and I have everything I had with iTunes.

If you ripped into mp3s, you are fine. If you ripped into the default AAC, conversion will be necessary. Anything purchased from the iTunes Store will need to be converted (if iTunes Plus) or will not work (if protected iTunes files). Protected aac files do not work on the Zune.

Well I did it... I got a 16 gig Zune HD and its pretty dang nice. I mean if you dont care about apps it beats the Ipod in sound, HD'ness, navigation and over all looking really dang cool by a mile. The Screen is also BEAUTIFUL! The battery life is amazingly long. The Radio on it is also of pretty high quality in that the stations come in pretty clear and if you get an HD station it sounds NICEEEE. Yeah over all im pretty shocked out how good it is. It is fo sure better then the old Brick Zunes. Nice job Microsoft!
