So I'm writing a short-story/novel...

And I just realised that the work so far could very easily be interpreted from a feminist perspective.

I don't feel very manly about that.

Well then throw in some stuff about spitting, farting, and football; that should help your self image. :P

That would probably make it look even more feminist.

The novel is designed to pyschoanalyse different personalities. One of the major themes is the discussion of whether or not women have a super ego. While the male protagonist holds to the belief that women do not possess a super ego, it is clear that the female protagonist possesses an a very strong super ego which is constantly clashing with her id.
The male protagonist, however, possesses no morality or super ego whatsoever and lives with his strong sense of logic dictating a conflict between existential authenticity and social identity.
A lot of attention goes into relationships and the reasons individuals get along/don't get along.

I suppose since the woman still possesses character flaws, and isn't just a "victim of men", it's probably not going to look as feminist. It's like, I'm walking a thin line between feminism and misogyny which needs to be perfectly balanced to remain in a neutral camp.

I read up until this point:

The novel is designed to pyschoanalyse
It was at this point that I knew I would never read it or want to read it.  That isn't to say that it will be a bad book, its just not my taste.
May you prosper greatly!

Doesn't every novel psychoanalyse characters on some level?

Well, if it's any comfort, it's not exactly hard to misinterpret things as feminist literature. I once heard someone claim that Melville's Moby dork is all about lesbians. ::)

Feminist perspective... oh joys.

I, for one, believes the whole thing is a bunch of hooey... so basically I'm telling you not to worry about any bias that may come from it.
