That shows your age? That's like saying your age is betrayed by saying you saw The Matrix in theaters. I was watching The Muppet Show in my youth, before REM had even released Document. And even that is a rerun of the original broadcasts, and Sesame Street went on the air eight years before I was even born.

I hope the people who didn't watch first-run original Sesame Streets aren't reading your post.

The monocle was evidence that the Colonel's vision was not very good. There seemed to be a lot of things going on at that stalag that he did not notice.

It has to be true. I read it on a random web site (http://www.hogansheroesfanclub.com/faq.php), and they have backup in the form of a scanned in article from the Cleveland Press TV Guide from 1965.

Further proof of the factoid's veracity can be found in the fact that it it NOT listed in John Banner's Wikipedia entry.

That Cookie Monster segment may be the best thing I have ever seen. Things like that show how Jim Henson and Frank Oz were brilliant at improvisation with their muppets (case in point: Swedish Chef was a muppet version of the old my-arms-through-your-armpits gag), and the people who continue their work today have been working hard to fill some very big shoes.

Yes, that's exactly it. Oz would be the actual hands of the chef, and Henson voiced the sketch. I think the main setup and punch line were already in place and the two of them sort of ad-libbed to stretch it out to the 30-second or 60-second time slot.
