Title: Running Ubuntu in a VM Need Some Help
Post by: Cameron the Conqueror on May 12, 2009, 06:14:48 PM
Hey everyone,

I have a problem running Ubuntu in a Sun VirtualBox VM and if anyone knows how to fix it that would be so helpful.  I'm trying to install to the guest additions in Ubuntu, and I can't seem to be able to.  I have the cd image on the desktop, I open it, and find the linux x86 file.  When I run it, it says I need admin privileges the run it.  I thought the 1st account you create automatically has admin privs.  I can't find a "Run As Admin" button like Windows, so I"m stuck.  Any help would be awesome!

Thanks in advance,
       Cameron

If I remember my *nix stuff correctly, you need to use the activate the sudo account, as the admin account isn't as powerful as the admin account you are familiar with in Windows.

Try putting the question to the Ubuntu community, they live and breathe this stuff.
